Melton Lake Park — Attraction in Oak Ridge

Love this great outdoors area. Amazing views by the river, and the greenway is long, offering a few different paths. Along are little workout activities to change it up. A great place to walk the dog or get a run in. Also has the rowing company that offers river activities for rent, as well as Calhoun's for a nice bite to eat.

Watch for rowing competition weekends to see colleges from across the country compete. It's an exciting event to see. There are also little events they have occasionally for the family. Definitely a favorite outdoor place...

This is such a wonderful running, walking, biking area just minutes from most areas of Oak Ridge, TN. We like to eat at one of the restaurants then stroll along the river watching ducks, geese, and song birds. There is a public boat launch ramp and plenty of free parking. The riverside trail is paved so can be used by wheelchairs, scooters and walkers. A large play area and picnic pavilion are also part of the complex. Whichever organization that is responsible for the park does a great job of keeping it clean. I'm mainly familiar with it through jogging and catching Pokémon there. It is my second favorite place for catching Pokémon but the best for jogging. The view across the water is great and you don't have to travel far to get something to eat or get on the road to Knoxville. My only complaint would be the limited parking but that is only ever a problem on a special event day. I've never known the parking lot to be even close to full on a...
