Calcasieu River — Attraction in Oakdale

Wow.. This is our favorite camping spot.. We go for several days and nights often.. it's great for tents and fmly fun.. There are local ppl tht come and visit.. and they will go as far as to help you if your needing help.. they are really nice.. and good ppl.. plus the Game wardens come thru often.. making it extra safe.. We always clean up the beach and make it appear we were never there.. to keep our echo system in a natural state.. And what's really great is all the ppl that come for the day.. they all keep and eye out for everyone's children.. This is a great place to get away and it doesn't cost anything but your food, drinks and tent if you want to...

Nice place to cool off in the summer , canoeing is also available but watch out for broken bottles , bottle caps and food and drink cans that will cut you . Idiots have to mess it up pretty often. I've even seen bottles used for targets to shoot at on the beaches . Should have police presence more often. I wouldn't advise going without...
