Didn't make an appointment? Waiting at the gate? CALL THE PHONE NUMBER!
We almost missed out on this gem because the gate was closed and we didn't make an appointment. Was about to drive on... But I decided to call and Farmer John was more than accommodating!
It's a farm meets vineyard meets winery.
Anyways, we called and Farmer John came and opened the gate for our two cars. We came in and parked next to the barn. He gave us the choice of tasting inside or outside - we chose outside.
After the 15 minutes he needed to get ready, he rolled out with all the glasses and bottles required for a tasting for 5 adults.
Most of the wines are fruit forward but we all really enjoyed that about them. They well blended. John also explained that he's not pressured to put out wines that he doesn't feel meet his standard. This is a passion for him.
Great conversations followed. The kids all played around the grounds and even went to go meet the farm animals!
We all bought 2 bottles (or more) each to cover our tasting.
It was great enjoying this time and the conversations surrounded by green grass and a wonderful farm setting.
Definitely will be coming back!

Read moreI wish I had taken some pictures of this charming winery! We went while we were camping at a nearby reservoir & had a lovely time. Kristi came out, greeted us & gave us a little history about the farm while Farmer John was finishing up with the people ahead of us. We strolled around for a few minutes & then had a great time tasting with John. They had a few nibbles for us to try with the wines & it was super relaxing and fun. They're very easy to chat with & seem so happy to be able to share with people. Not only did they allow us to bring our dogs, they welcomed them (& had their dogs inside). We made a few purchases & then went back to the campsite & had a bottle with our dinner. I sent John a text asking if we could buy a case & we went back the next day (when they weren't even open for tasting) & took home a bigger purchase of their very good wines. They're very reasonably priced & it was a nice, enjoyable experience. ...
Read moreFrom scheduling our tasting via text and hilarious gifs, to meeting at his quaint, rustic barn tasting room, Farmer John was a pleasure!! A hillside, country winery that provides some lovely and elegant wines. We had a tasting of 4 varieties. A great red blend that can be paired well beyond just red meat. The Pinot Noir is a wonderful earthy, mushroomy ( a word I’m probably making up ) mouthful that we are still talking about. John’s two port style wines, Angelica and Beelzebob are elegant, creamy and a tiny glass of decadent dessert. YUM !! We deliberately drove almost 2 hours to visit this hidden gem and plan on going back again. Thank You Farmer John &...
