What an incredible adventure! This 16.5-mile hike began in Yosemite Valley, and we took the Mist Trail on the ascent. The scenery was absolutely breathtaking. Though the Mist Trail was a bit more challenging, with some steep sections that felt like a straight climb at times, it shaved about a mile off the total distance. Once we reached the John Muir Trail (JMT), the path leveled out, providing a brief reprieve before the real climb began.
When you reach Sub Dome, the true challenge starts. Stick to the well-worn path as you head upward. As you approach the cables, donโt worryโyour adrenaline will kick in. Take your time on the cables, rest when you need to, and donโt feel rushed. Thereโs no hurryโyouโve already made it this far! Pause on the wooden planks to catch your breathโnobody minds. The reward awaits you at the summit, and trust me, itโs more than worth the effort. Enjoy...

I'm so glad we took pictures first and then realized how majestic, but fragile the visor can actually be. Absolutely gorgeous place & stunning views of the valley. You can actually see the Inspiration Point far ahead in the distance - cool to actually see it from the other side from on top of the Half Dome!!
Good luck & go be wild! As my dog would say, Live life...
