You are pretty much in the middle of no man's land maybe you see somebody else. Maybe you Bigfoot, maybe you don't. We getting counter bear tracks following us. When we got back to the autoyo, there is no parking lot designated for parking. Just an area of dirt and there are no bathrooms, not even a quarter pot. No garbage cans, so it's carry in carry out but very nice. One of the only places to see the giant Sequoia trees a handful of still standing without going to the Sequoia forest at the other end of. The mountain range which is six hours away. If you are going to yosemite national park near the tenaya lodge this is about twenty five minutes away to the south...
Read moreI arrived there around 3pm. We chose to cross the bridge first for the loop. The scenery was what you would expect. The trail has mossy trees, rocks, mushrooms, bridges that cross the creek, and sadly giant stumps of ancient giant sequoias. It being my first time, walking up to the last remaining trees is truly beautiful. I would recommend this trail and would love to visit again or the other...
Read moreThis area was destroyed and has fallen trees everywhere blocking the 1 mile loop trail. However, started my hike at the beginning of Rd 6S47Y and it was very enjoyable. You can still get a nice hike in on Rd 6S90. Fallen trees along the way so it is accessible on foot only. Keep going past the Nelder Creek recreation area onto Rd 6S90 and it will take you to the original loop trail after...
