The park is nice it has excellent views of the waterways. The people there are usually friendly It can be a great place for fishing and relaxing. My main concern is with anyone that goes there that is handicapped and needs to require a wheelchair. Because they make it very difficult to Get around. The concrete surfaces are all uneven there is no ramp service from one side of the park to the other the ramp has been closed down for many years now. And they don't even have sidewalks available to get to most of the picnic tables none of the picnic tables are set up for handicapped. And even someone not in a wheelchair would have to be extra careful walking around without tripping. Whoever designed that park did not have elderly in mind and they certainly did not have the handicap in mind. Even to get to the Oceanside there is physically no way without climbing stairs and their narrow steep stairs at that. And they simply do not keep the park clean like they used to very very poor maintenance. That's why I only give it three stars. It's a shame because at one time the park was maintained beautifully and it used to have functioning ramps for the handicapped but they have not kept up with the maintenance and they have let it fall apart instead they just rope off the ramp areas and have left them roped off for years now. Amazingly they even went through the expense of putting up a fence around the ramps so they could not be used. Instead of just fixing the ramps with would have been the proper...
Read moreMy wife and I stopped here for about an hour on June 16, 2025 to walk around a bit and explore. The last time we had visited here was about 15 years ago, and we were pleasantly surprised on this recent visit just how much they have improved the public facilities here. There is now a nice-sized parking lot that's free (a rarity anywhere anywhere in South Florida these days), new restrooms and outdoor showers, a much improved boardwalk along the south side of the inlet, as well as a newly rebuilt south jetty that just out into the ocean about 100 yards or so. There is also a small sandy beach on the intracoastal (west) side of the park where the kids can safely swim without getting pounded by big waves. You can also cross the bridge over the inlet on foot and explore the north jetty and beach, and they also have additional parking that is mostly used by fisherman. Overall, this is great place and my only gripe during this visit was the vast amount of seaweed that was washed up on the Atlantic Ocean side beach across A1A from the parking lot. It does not look like the city or county is doing anything about cleaning it up, so it makes swimming in the ocean here not very fun. It was not as bad on the beach inside the north jetty, so if you plan to swim in the ocean here, that might be your...
Read moreAwesome! The water is beautiful and so clean, it reminds me of the dominican-caribbean beaches. The pier is pretty nice and it is so cool to see people having a good time fishing from it, riding their boats and jet-skies. The parking was a little over-capacity, so you will probably need to be a little patient if you don't arrive early. There are shelters, jumping areas and a beautiful beach. Something that confuses me a little is the fact that there is a couple of signs, right before entering into the beach area, that let the visitors know that dogs are not allowed, BUT we saw a big dog 😍 having a great time with his/her owner. And we saw a law enforcement officer on his 4-wheel patroling and never minded about. Maybe they changed the rules and never updated the signs. Who knows! We really wish to take our daschund with us when we return (because we will, very soon) and he is an oldie, lovely friend, but we don't want a fine, or an officer walking us out. A very good thing, from our prespective, is that they don't allow you to have amplified music on the beach, so, kind of quiet 🙏 environment, except the times when the boats pass by with music😄. We really enjoyed visiting Ocean...
