Plenty of room to park near the entrance, though not all of it is marked as such. This is a nature reserve for part of the year, there is a private beach property to the West and beach fires are not always allowed so pay attention to any signs that may be posted.
Best practice is to check the tides before you go. It is easy to access the full length of the beach at low tide, but once the tide begins to come in, you may have to climb over some rocks to get back to the area of beach closest to the entrance and parking.
Be prepared for breathtakingly cold water, mysterious mists, and plenty of neat rocks, salt-loving plants and sprawling stretches of sand perfect for a romantic long walk on the beach.
Motorized vehicles are not allowed, so plan to carry any belongings you wish to bring.
There is are port-a-potties by the entrance, but no other bathroom facilities.
Finally, don't be that person. Pack out what you pack in and don't disturb the sea life. Nobody likes...
Read moreReally cool walking area at the end of ocean shores beach. It’s a huge area the surrounded by the coast coming into the large Bay Area! Really neat to see! Lots of walking area. Lots of downed logs and sand dollars and sea life around. Still can see some good waves near the beach area and Bay Area. If you’re lucky on the right day you can possible see sea lions out there. They like to hangout where the coast comes into the Bay Area. You can see land on the other side of where the coast comes in too and there’s a huge airport. While the tide is shallow you can walk pretty far out on the sand. It goes really far for walking to and can make quite the big loop. Definitely lots of parking in the area and space for walking once you’re out there. Good area to swim as well if you’d prefer not fully swimming in the ocean. Tons of full and broken sand dollars! Really...
Read moreMy favorite beach in Washington! At low tide this beach is littered with jasper of all colors, agates, and petrified wood. I've been a hand-full of times and every time I never want to leave. Make sure you go at low tide or just before low tide is at it's lowest for the best hunting, and also make sure you don't get stuck on the point when the tide starts to come in. For those that are not familiar with tides, there is a low tide and a mid-low tide, pay attention to that. There's a little camping area there called Snuggler's Cove (I always call it Smuggler's Cove cos of all the pretty stones around) that has campground spots for $25 per night (I think), and four cozy cabins for around $140 per...
