La Hacienda Event Center — Attraction in Odessa

Not sure how to rate this location considering theres several things working against each other, the place itself is quite impressive and definitely the better place for an event in the odessa midland area if you're willing to pay a ridiculous amount of money to attend. I understand it's a business and that's how it works but they really do over charge for everything. The event I went to was $100 a ticket, however, I found the same tickets for 45 online. You pay for entrance only as most event centers around the area and then they sell you the table for $200-$450. The place has 3 different bars in which you can purchase pretty much any drink, it's a large area with a good sized dance floor, staging is great and its capacity is pretty great too, restrooms are kept in decent shape although my wife did experience having to use the restroom with someone having to stand there because the door wouldnt close. Security is tight even though there has been events that get out of hand. All these things considered i dont think i will attend another event here because of the following reasons and perhaps something might be done to fix it. First, I feel like they're failing the consumer by not providing table service for people who spend money on a table, that would make it more appealing to buy a table and to attend an event. Parking it pretty terrible, if you dont get there very early you're pretty much left with parking in the dirt parking lot which is bad for many reasons one of them being that people are dressed nicely for a good time out and they have to step on and get dirt blown into by passing vehicles, just spend the money on paving the entire parking area, make it a better experience for the paying customers! Overall it's a very nice place but they should bring it down a notch and give the customer a better more affordable experience. If I could rate this place a 0 out of 5 stars I would. First of all I drove 10 hours to see Rauw Alejandro for them to completely scam us. We called multiple times asking when he was going to perform and they stated multiple times that he would perform at 12. We showed up to the concert ON TIME, and he was already gone... We were lied to and never got to see him. When going to fix the issue the entire staff up front laughed at us. When asked to speak to the owner of the Event Center the female worker, I believe her name is Africa Karem, laughed over the phone. After this absurd interaction, anytime we called they would answer and then hang up on us while cackling in laughter and taunting us. We were promised a refund the next day and never got it. We called again and the girl told us we sounded super desperate for our money, of course we were, we paid 200+ dollars… Fernando, the "manager" took his title to another level acting like he was god when he isn't. He was the one who offered us a refund for the next day, to then be told he doesn't have the power to do this. I called again today and Alejandra another worker, laughed at our situation and stated it wasn’t her problem that we drove 10 hours, which isn’t but some empathy would be nice after everything that has happened! Customers/presenters beware! Don’t recommend attending an event or renting this facility. Attended an event this past weekend and it was extreme hot in venue. A/C was not turned on until after guests arrived. All the guests were excessively sweating, uncomfortable and several left due to unbearable heat. Management was asked several times to adjust a/c and “apparently” it was adjusted by staff. Individuals could end up with a heat stroke due or lead to other health complications bc of careless decisions made by owners/management. Mens’ dress shirts were drenched in sweat and all guests were fanning themselves throughout evening. Heat was unbearable. We could have been cooler outside when the sun went down verses inside the building. Actually venue looks to not be equipped with proper cooling/ventilation system. Definitely not a reputable way to operate a business. It’s unethical to operate under these circumstances. I will never attend an event at this facility nor do I recommend to anyone. Save your money and use it towards a different venue who values their business and customers. I truly rate venue a zero star. Renters be aware...
