This place is a wonderful place for family. My son and I stopped by on our cross country vacation. Staff is helpful, knowledgeable and a pleasure to visit with. The nature center building has professional displays, interactive centers as well as several well thought-out indoor and outdoor bird watching areas. Trails are a combination of blacktop, boardwalk, compacted dirt and the occasional mowed grass path. My son loved the fairy house hunt, the trails and of course the trolls. This is our second troll stop in the US (first one was in Maine’s coastal botanical gardens) and these trolls are truly placed in nature, tucked into the landscape as if alive. I recommend this place to anyone. Take the time and visit. Lastly, their educational facilities for day camps at the center and at the working farm looked awesome. I have taught several different nature camps in a different state and I am jealous of the facilities. If we lived in the Ohio I would get my own into one of the camps. ***fyi the Totoro in the fairy pic is our own addition as we bring it with us and get pics of it in various places. Well done Aullwood! Thank you for a fantastic visit.

What a magical place! When planning our trip to see the trolls I had no idea what we were in for! It turned out to be a treasure hunt through the forrest! The facility where you check in is beautiful with ample, clean bathrooms, educational activities, classrooms and a gift shop. There are two separate areas; the nest and Bibbi are at the check in facility side and Bo and Bodini are on the Farm side. You can walk between but it was extremely hot and humid so we drove to the farm. While the signage and even the map to find the trolls was of little assistance on our quest - we found the nest fairly easily but walked in circles looking for Bibbi. Then we headed over to the farm…fell in LOVE with all the animals! The signage for the trolls (if you know their names) was better on this side. We happily found them all! Tips: take a backpack with cold waters on a hot day!! Wear proper shoes!! If it rains, the mud gets very slick! Look for the fairy houses, too! Such a super fun place for kids of all ages! I wish we lived closer and I could bring my grandkids. I would 10/10 recommend for anyone that loves a nature trail and enjoys art.

This is a great place to spend some time with your kids. I feel it's like a hidden gem of Dayton because I never hear people talking about it, but it's awesome. In the nature center there is lots to look at and activities for kids. They also have live turtles, snakes, and fish in the nature center. Also a bird watching room many other themed classrooms open to wonder around. Outside the nature center are walking trails. My 3 year old daughter was in heaven when we found fairy houses along one of the trails outside. Also, one of the trails (or you could drive) lead to a real farm. This is all included in one ticket price. While we were there in spring, there were lots of baby farm animals. It was great, you are free to just wonder around and look in the different barns. We saw horses, goats, pigs, chickens, ducks. There was also an outdoor play area for kids, with a tractor and kid sized wheelbarrows for them to play with. We will definitely be back to visit again. We spent probably 2 hours at the nature center/ trails and about and hour at the farm.

Dope experience! We drove to this location from Cincy and had fun discovering the trolls here. We started at the nature center and was glad to see some paved trails for the stroller. The toddlers enjoyed the Bibbi troll sculpture and the nest sculpture while I enjoyed the wildflower trail. It was refreshing to walk around and see the ground sprouting buttercups, bluebells, grape hyacinths, skunk cabbage and bloodroots. We ended at the farm where we found the parent trolls and some farm animals. The entrance fee is ok. It’s $12 for adults and $8 for children. We didn’t mind paying but it would have been wonderful if there was a way for staff to look up membership at the Cincinnati Nature center. We are members there but didn’t have our card with us. Would have been a nice benefit. The trails can be wet and muddy and there are some steps that can be slippery so wear waterproof hiking shoes and bring a dry towel. Overall, nice and unique experience.

I finally got to see the trolls! It was everything I expected it to be. It cost $12 per person. You go into the main entrance and pay inside. The staff are very helpful and kind. I let them know I was there to see the trolls and they pointed me in the right direction, from paying to giving me a map and highlighting the route. The hike is not a loop. One way is just over a mile. Sunscreen may be necessary on parts of the hike although there was shade on most of the trails. There are restrooms just inside when you get there and also when you arrive at the farm on your way to see the last troll. Allow for time to visit the animals! Don't forget your drinking water because you don't want your thirst to keep you from seeing all the things. Also inside the main entrance you will find a small nature center and a very reasonably priced gift shop. I collect magnets from my travels and they had the perfect troll magnets to mark this occasion.

This was one of the best dates I've been on with my partner, and it's so close to Dayton, nestled back in the scenic rural part of Trotwood. The staff was very kind and helpful and the gift shop was full of so many interesting items. There was so much to do, see and learn at this place and we had an excellent time! There is a lot of walking, so it's a great way to get your steps in and see nature, local wildlife, indoor nature museum displays, live amphibians and reptiles, farm animals, and the stunning Troll exhibit. The free map was very helpful but you definitely want to buy a copy of the illustrative map that was created by the artist who created the troll sculptures. We will certainly be revisiting this place! My only suggestion might be a few more signs, maybe some wooden trail signage to accompany the troll instillations and the many features of this place, because there really is so much to see.
