I was highly impressed with Baileys trail system. This place is well designed and easy to navigate with signage at every intersection. I was only able to do about 20mi starting from Chauncey up to the Utah pond and back. I'd really like to ride some of those black rated trails next time. This was a 3.5hr drive from home, and I'd do it again for further exploration of this trail system. This isn't gravity riding like we have further east, but it's absolutely flow trail riding! Definitely left an impression on me and I've ridden quite a few areas at this point in my MTB journey.

This area has come a long way over the years. There is now a lot of paved parking, rest rooms (not always unlocked), and a pump track to warm up before hitting the trails. The trails are a lot of fun and I really like the Lost Marbles trail. This might actually be more fun (not as challenging) as riding trails around Sells and Strouds.

I've now ridden all the trails in the first Phase of the Baileys Trail System. The trails are so much fun to ride on a mountain bike, as they were built specifically for bikes, not re-purposed hiking trails like many other places.

Wonderfully built trails and the new sections opened today are just as nice. Put down 15 miles with two 7 year olds and my brother in-law and was pretty constant type 1 fun... at the end for the little ones maybe some type 2 mixed in... but honestly totally rideable on ANY bike that you have. The climbs are generally punchy and mixed with some nice flow sections. You will climb but nothing is too steep or crazy. The little guys rode literally 99% of the trail to put it in...

Had stopped at Utah pond to eat our DQ lunch and enjoy some fresh air and found ourselves driving through the smoldering remnants of a burned out forest fire. Everything in every direction, for as far as you could see, through the winter forest, the landscape a blackened, ash covered, unfamiliar world of dead things waiting to be recycled by nature...

I'm not sure if it was a controlled burn or a wildfire, but we will return after the spring rains to see the beauty of a...
