A Wild Weekend at Deerassic Classic – Even Without the Big Win!**
I spent this past weekend at the Deerassic Classic, and let me tell you—it was an absolute blast, even though I left with no trophies to brag about (except maybe a slight sunburn)!
First off, Deerassic Park is the perfect blend of outdoor adventure and community spirit. The event was packed with energy, great music, and the smell of BBQ in the air—enough to make any carnivore's mouth water. The organizers did a fantastic job, making sure there was never a dull moment, whether you were into live music, watching the raffles, or just soaking in the camaraderie of fellow outdoors enthusiasts.
Now, about those raffles. It turns out, Lady Luck took a weekend off just when I needed her most. Despite my best efforts (and more raffle tickets than I’d care to admit), I didn’t walk away with a new ATV, crossbow, or even a humble gift card. But hey, who needs a new set of wheels when you've got memories of an amazing time with friends? Right?
The atmosphere was electric, and the sheer variety of activities ensured that everyone had something to enjoy. From watching kids marvel at the educational exhibits to joining in on some spirited conversations with fellow attendees, it was clear that the Deerassic Classic is about more than just winning—it’s about experiencing the great outdoors and having a whole lot of fun along the way.
Even without the jackpot, I left Deerassic Park with a full heart, a full stomach, and plans to come back next year—where I’m sure that’s when my lucky streak will finally kick in (right?). Until then, I’ll cherish the memories and maybe start saving up for even more raffle tickets!
If you’ve never been to the Deerassic Classic, you’re missing out on one of the best weekends Ohio has to offer. Just remember: you might not win the grand prize, but you’ll definitely leave feeling...
Read moreThis is an awesome event! What a great way to raise money for such an integral part of Ohio's culture, economy, and future. Money raised at this event goes to so many kinds of wildlife education -- hunter safety, recognizing animals and their signs, fishing derbies, youth hunts, teaching kids how to protect their natural resources, the list goes on and on! The amount of work that goes into this event is stunning. Organizing donations, volunteers, traffic and parking, transportation, camping, safety, raffles and merchandise, vendors, food and entertainment, everything right down to porta-potties! is a boat load of work and it is very well done. The entire venue is very clean (including the porta-potties and there are handicapped accessible ones too). No glass is allowed on the grounds, it's an 18 and older event, no alcohol is sold but you can bring your own, AND everyone is expected to behave themselves--and they do. Fun is encouraged! Everyone we met was nice; it was great to go somewhere where people were...
Read moreA remarkable charitable and educational organization dedicated to both hands-on teaching and funding of programs for wildlife education. American schools ignore the importance of the wildlife and flora in our growth as a nation, Deerassic is trying to fill that educational gap. One of the ways they fund their activities is through an annual event that brings hunters, fishermen and gun enthusiasts together to meet with vendors to the sports, see what is the latest gear, buy and sell. They have many raffles, and drawings, including the worlds' largest 50-50 drawing, this last year just over $250,000! It is a great annual event, and well...
