I love being outdoors and have recently took up deer hunting and have yet to see any actual deer on the handful of times I have hunted here. I see plenty of signs of deer in the area but the area might be a little pressured. I have always enjoyed being outdoors so not actually getting a deer didn’t ruin being in the amazing setting offered by this wildlife area.

Dillon Wildlife Area is a great place to go if you want to observe nature and wildlife. The Licking River flows through it and there are wetlands, marshes and a lake. There are only a few access points (look on Google Maps) and there aren't any amenities.

This is by far, one of my thinking zones, a place where I can expand my God consciousness. Also, I have found the best wild black raspberries in all the earth herešŸ¤—šŸ¤—šŸ¤—

Less of a wildlife area more like a mix use farm land. First, this review is for the wildlife area, not the state park. The road in is awful. The turn in off of 146 has monstrous potholes and is barely wide for one vehicle let alone two. The road in was washed out in 3 places making this impassible in some places. Parking is abhorrent, not asking for a parking lot, but a few cleared area where vehicles can pull off and park would be nice.

Most of the land is mixed use, never seen a wildlife area with corn fields in it. I come here exclusively for the hunting. With the mixed use of land and obvious neglect from Ohio Department of Natural Resources, this area is mediocre at best for hunting or wildlife watching. Much better spots, save yourself the headache and hunt and wildlife watch...

I used to love going to Dillon wildlife area. It was always a place that you can go explore the ones fish do anything outdoors you can basically think of. I was extremely upset and disappointed to find out that they had closed most of it off to where you used to be able to drive in to certain areas. The fact that the state funnels money away from areas like this just goes to show that the outdoors and Recreation aren't as important to the people in Columbus as it is to the people across Ohio.

The one thing that I can say is thankfully they haven't privatized this area like they have a lot of the other state parks...

Camped there over the last 30 yrs BUT it has become a very sad place. The locals use it for a dump until they have closed areas off. The once beautiful beach area with very nice showers & dressing rooms, baby pool, game room & super nice concession stand have been torn down. The weeds are out of control. I never want to go back. I want to keep my beautiful memories of family & fun, not what I saw the last time of mattresses, stoves, trash. What a difference 4 yrs can make. No I will never go...
