Started the tour of Ashtabula's 19 antique and new covered bridges. Here's the Harpersfield bridge in Geneva, OH, over the Grand River. It's said to be the second longest covered bridge in Ohio at 228 ft long. Built in 1868 with the steel supplement added around 1913. Pedestrian walks were added in 2003. No ticket needed. There is a county gift shop with a very helpful and knowledgeable attendant. Toilets there also.

2025 ... I grew up on this bridge and river. This bridge in October was rededicated after a 2 year rehab project. The dam has also gone thru a rehab, and is done. A very steep wavy road takes you down if coming from Nouth side off rt 307 West. IT IS A ONE LANE BRIDGE but each side has a pedestrian covered walkway. Lots of parking as three different lots

The bridge has been restored! It is great! However, the surrounding landscape is overgrown. It is hard to get close enough to view the bridge from the parking lots and paths along the river. The shrubbery near the restroom on the playground side makes it hard to enter. The last time I was in the restroom near the gift shop I was disappointed as it was very dirty . I know the focus was the bridge for the last few years. It is disheartening to see that the Aesthetics of this park...
