This is unfortunately one of the more neglected and less visited State Parks in Ohio. The petroglyphs have been vandalized over the years by hooligans. They have added their own initials and carvings because they have no respect for anyone else. They are the reason the rest of us can't have nice things. The trail is a short journey. It is only 7/10ths of a mile. The trail goes down into the ravine then takes you up and over the ravine. There are some nice water features and waterfalls. The trail is very narrow. Basically a foot path. I wouldn't recommend this for people with children under ten years of age. I would also recommend hitting another park in the area because there is not a lot to see and do. So visit this park and then perhaps move on to another park for the...

Took a little detour on our road trip this weekend. My adults were excited about the history, I was excited to let the kids out. If you want to see the petroglyphs they're at the parking lot under the gazebo area. My family hiked the whole trail looking for then only to find them when they got back to the car. If you don't mind a little hike it's a nice place to kill an hour. Just open your eyes and...

Fascinating rock carvings and a terrific little nature trail. As of mid April 2023 there is quite a bit of windfall on the trail but it is possible to climb around the trees and/or through the limbs. The large white trilliums are blooming en masse now as well as plenty of longspur violets, rue anemone, and spring beauties. The gorge itself is beautiful even without the wildflowers.
