The park has a historic component in the McKinnis house where special programs are frequently held. The house is only open at those times and is well worth the vist. The barn is another historical component and has a modern food service area attached. It can be rented. The natural area of the park with trails is the remainder of the park on the north side of US 224. A paved handicap accessible trail leads to a very nice overlook with benches. Beyond that the main trail has a gravel surface with side trails being soil or grass surface. The park is primarily wooded with nice sized trees. The western edge of the park does have some nice...

I was there officiating a wedding and it was so beautiful! What a great place to have a smaller barn wedding! They had a tent set up outside for the wedding and were able to seat 75-80 people. The reception was in the barn and it was incredible. It was your Pintrest barn wedding and there was plenty of room for the guests, DJ and food! There's a huge kitchen and while there was no AC it was not missed on a 75° day, at all! Perfect venue for spring and fall barn weddings, birthdays bridal or babyshowers or...

I gave the park 3 stars only because I haven't had the chance to explore more of it. We did the south loop and we had our dogs with us but we will go back next weekend to explore the north trails. It's beautiful out there, plenty of trails, the dogs loved it... The only thing I didn't enjoy about the south loop was that there was no access to the Blanchard river from the trail. But like I said, that's just the south loop. The north has much...

Very pretty, some spots have what I call tree root stairways on the trail. So if elderly or have injuries just walk the other parts of trails there. It's a wonderful small walk/hike. Definitely check it out it's magical right now as the leaves are changing and falling. The trails are wide enough to pass people without issue as well. Some parts are paved. Went back again in 11/12/23. Mist the color was gone. Still beautiful out there.

Seems like a really nice park. I didn't stay long but I did check out both parking areas. I didn't realize they dont have longer paved trails here. Wasn't prepared. Would definitely make sure to have some good shoes, especially if it has rained recently. What I saw was beautiful. Look forward to coming back when I have my hiking boots and bug spray. They have rest rooms at the main park entrance, but not the smaller parking lot.
