Read moreLodge is very loud. Rooms are dated. The wood on the doors is splintered and they squeak and slam. It is very loud at night with slamming doors. Poorly insulated rooms. If you are unfortunate and end up with a room overlooking the pool you get blasted with music over the loudspeaker starting at 7 am. The pool does not even open until 10. If you want to enjoy the peace and quiet forget it. Can’t hear the birds. Called the desk to see if it could be turned off but they it is automatic. Guess they can’t figure out that the volume can be adjusted to zero or one. The bathrooms are updated but the floors and grout are dirty. The food in the Riverview restaurant is extremely overpriced and served cold. Chicken is rubber regardless of the type of dish. Potatoes are gummy. Pork is thin and overcooked. Pizza is over baked and burnt. The chef ran late all three days and there were lengthy delays with poor quality food served anyway. A new server on his first day was unsupervised and forgot he had guests at his tables. Grounds are pretty but the experience overall is barely a one star. The hotel rooms are 300 a night but the quality is not on par with the price. The cabins are even worse than the lodge. The couch is very uncomfortable to sit on for more than a two minutes. The kitchen has ants. The bathroom has not been updated and is decades old. The water is either extremely hot or cold no mid range in the shower. The upstairs has old uncomfortable beds and furniture and it is very hot. There are no chairs outside by the fire pit. Just an old warped wood picnic table. Cabin smells musty. You cannot open the bathroom door when the front door is open. They slam into each other. Weird construction and safety issue. Cabin is not old and charming just old and uncomfortable. Signage in the lodge is very poor. Room locations and restrooms directional signage is non existent. Lamps in lodge rooms are old with warped dirty lampshades and no outlet for phone charging. WiFi is iffy at best. Poor cell service. Paddle boats are on a tiny pond and overpriced. Bike rental is overpriced at at least 25 for an hour. Paddle board rental is 45 minutes away. The little cafe has good chicken if you don’t mind waiting 35 minutes since it only has a couple of workers. Hamburger is frozen patty. Pizza not fresh. Over baked burnt and cold from sitting for long time in heated display case. The side entry doors outside of the front are old heavy with glass frosted from broken seals. The roof had numerous missing and broken tiles. Wood is falling off is areas by pool. Indoor pool is dated and the tiled floor is not...
Read moreLots of things to do here! We had our 4 year old with us and we were able to go on a hike, play on a playground, walk by the water, go in the pool, arcade, indoor play center and more! The rooms were decent. The bathroom was great because of the shower! Cleanliness was okay. The temperature of the room was awful. It was reading 72 in the room, we asked how to turn it down when we tried many times ourselves and they told us "they do not have an a/c option just have to keep your door open until it's the temperature you want then shut it" which doesn't really seem like a reasonable answer as it was 48 degrees out last night so it wasn't ideal but we had to do it if we wanted to be at a decent temperature. We had dinner at the lounge which was ok, pricy for chicken that was a little dry, soft pretzels that were hard and food was just warm when served. For the breakfast buffet, you had to pay for when it was warm and not too many options for kids. However, we were told we could stay in our room until noon if we wanted to the next day when check-out was at 11 then any hour after that would be 10.00 extra if no one booked the room. Mind you, we checked out on a Sunday, Halloween weekend, it was very empty there and when we told them the next morning we wanted to stay until noon they said we couldn't because the room was booked which was very hard to believe with all of the other rooms available so we had to leave at 11. Pretty frustrating and let down when we were told one thing and not the other but no big deal it would have been a bonus anyways to our stay. I would recommend this place and stay here again. Our family had a...
