I live in south Oxnard, and to me the 50 minute drive to this trail is worth it. I've never reviewed a trail before but I'm at a bar and not conversing with anyone right now. This trail is a perfect short/medium length for a quick hike. At my pace, (quick) it takes roughly 35 minutes to get to the end ("the bench") of this out n back trail. It climbs and is technical enough to challenge you if you take it fast enough. There are many switchbacks in the beginning. It's not strenuous by any means but I think it offers more competent hikers something. Side note (brag) in the Spring of '16 I hiked 60 days straight and if I recall this hike was part of that streak. If you're really looking for an extended hike or a challenge I think hitting this trail twice back to back would be good. It's easily accessible too! It's a very good hike and I think the drive to these depths of Ojai is worth it. Thanks for...
Read moreThis is a great trail head that offers a number of different options depending on your skill levels. If you want an easy hike, you can go to the first bluff. Or for a more difficult hike, continue on until the first fork in the road. If you head left the hike becomes more difficult and connects you to the next trail junction and viewpoint. Continuing down takes you to Ojai’s network of trails on the north side of the city. Heading left will take you to nordhoff ridge which you can use to access the Sespe wilderness. If you do choose to hike here please leave the trail better than you found it so future generations of hikers will be able...
Read moreNice short little hike with lots of car parking. Be careful crossing the road from parking to the trailhead. First 3/4 mile is mostly straight uphill on switchbacks and some water damage from rains has washed out small parts of the trail. Still safe to use - watch your footing. Nice views of Ojai! There is one bench at the...
