Loup Loup Ski Bowl — Attraction in Okanogan

This is an excellent place to spend a day with friends or family. There's a tube hill and beginner bunny slopes close to the lodge and restrooms so there's a place for parents or grandparents to go who don't want to ski but still want to watch or be part of the action. There's a rental shop and lessons are offered for those learning or wanting to hone their skills. Because it only has one chair lift, you will typically run into friends and family who are on different learning levels quite frequently compared to be larger resorts where you may not see each other except at lunch or end of the day. The lodge has pretty good burgers and a fireplace to sit by. I wouldn't call the seating super comfortable, but there are some bar stools to sit at where you can see the ski hill from inside the warmth of the lodge. It definitely isn't the caliber of ski hills people may be used to if they go to places like Telluride, Breckenridge, or Teton Village, but it's a nice place to go for a day or two. There isn't any on-site lodging, but it's not too far of a drive from Twisp or Okanogan to find hotel...

Fantastic little ski hill!! No, it’s not Whistler, or Gstaad, or free for those with a valid local zip code. It’s great for kids, and great for experienced grownups who just want to rip some turns on good terrain and cold snow. Ski instructors are good. Food is caloric. I grew up skiing on a small community hill just like this in New England, and the negative reviewers of that were the same, even way back then: locals saying too expensive, and out of towners saying too small and folksy. Well get over it. If you don’t like it, stay home and find your joy in a PBR. Or go to Crystal and pay double and wait in a 45 minute line. Loup Loup...

I liked managing the kitchen..took ALOT of scrubbing and cleaning but got it done. They eliminated the grill/ deep fryer...aiming for a grab & go style menu. They wanted more of a yippy gluten free menu which was hard to do with NO extra storage...no way to keep things fresh.( due to days of operations) and only A FEW people asking for it. I tried a variety of foods only to find out I'm not going to have the chance to experiment with what the customers REALLY want! As I'm not getting re hired as kitchen manager this season.
