South Lakes Park — Attraction in Oklahoma City

A facility that exist mostly because of the soccer club complex, so there's often plenty of families. Great walking/running trail. Not good for cyclist - get a clue. Great children's playground. A small sk8 Park for dudes & chicks. Restrooms are too often locked and unavailable. Nasty graffiti doesn't get addressed in a timely fashion. Parking space is usually sufficient. Lawns typically are well maintained. Small fishing pond. Adjacent to the interstate and major convince/fuel store as well as other major stores such as Walmart. Road on the North Entrance is dangerous with hidden traffic due to a large dip with speeding traffic. West bound traffic beware. The road desperately needs to be leveled, but the City will seemingly ignore this problem until more serious accidents happen. Large open space park with plenty of trees around the pond....

This was an excellent venue for the 40-60 people in a recently attended event. A kitchen area with a spacious refrigerator and counter space easily accommodated the libations, while the clean bathrooms were accessible and never overburdened.

Parking is fairly plentiful, but access to the venue itself would be easier, for a crowded event, by carpooling, ride-sharing, or using the nearby, smaller lots adjacent to the venue. A few folks attending this event did complain that the directions from Google Maps were a bit misleading, and the road to the venue was confusing, but I didn't find this to be the case at all.

The rental/deposit costs for this venue appear to be reasonable for the quality and amenities on the site. I would definitely recommend this venue, at South Lakes Park, for anyone desiring to host a...

This park is incredible!!! My reason for going was to walk, there is a walking/jogging/bicycle trail around the park 1.6 miles in length nice and wide, regular width and typical bike trail with passing lane marking. That’s the kind of info in reviews I look for! A pond with turtles, ducks, and geese. The playground is incredible also!! Three playsets, one appears wheel chair friendly, one is a ship, and the other has an impressive tall tower! Sand box, swings, bridge to cross and stationary metal jeeps to pretend in.
