We really enjoyed the music at the Matchbox 20 concert we attended yesterday. The band was excellent!
The drinks were weak, but okay: light beer, weak margaritas. I understand a venue not wanting to serve strong drinks to a bunch of concert attendees! It's a recipe for disaster for those who don't know how to manage themselves.
The food available was tasty "state fair food," but not overpriced, like a lot of venues. We saw bagged frito chili pies, nachos, corn dogs, chicken skewers, tacos etc. Not bad.
As short people, though, we have to recommend not doing general admission unless you are willing to arrive more than an hour before the gates open in order to get a spot where you will be able to see the bands.
We arrived at 5:20. Gates opened at 6. We found what we thought was a good spot near a walkway to the beverage trucks and the bathrooms. We knew people would walk back and forth in front of us. It was great during the opener! But once the headline band started up, fans blocked the whole walkway and we couldn't see anymore.
Short people should consider not getting general admission tickets or...
Read moreWe went to see the Goo goo dolls and they were fantastic! Now, about the venue. They need more security in the reserved section as patrons did not seem to understand that they needed to go to the seat that they paid for. We spent most of the concert trying to contend with people standing directly in front of us in the front row. They were annoying all of the patrons around them. We paid for front row seats, they did not. Unfortunately, when we asked them to move, they became belligerent and argued with us. They felt entitled to stay because they really liked the band, what??? Security helped somewhat but still did not make them return to their seats. I have never heard of this in all of my years of seeing concerts. We are from another state. Our venues do not tolerate patrons squatting in other people's seats. And if they argue with security, they are escorted out of the venue, period. Please hire more security and enforce the seating assignments. It will prevent patrons from getting into any altercations. Sadly, people have to be told what to do like children. Other than that, the...
Read moreI LOVED seeing LANY here!! The concert was absolutely perfect. My only complaint is on security. There were tons of us that had been waiting in line for hours and hours (some even camped overnight) for the pit. Instead of having signs on where to line up for it, they just told us to form one in front of the gate. Well, it turns out security didn’t care about the line and just let everyone in the gate at the same time…so people who got there right when gates open got to go in front. It was a MESS! So PSA: if you want to camp outside this venue, be aware that they don’t care how long you’ve been waiting!! When I approached one of the security guards to ask if he could fix it, he said “nope! you can fight for your spot like everyone else”. Caused lots of problems and made lots of us very upset! Usually free water is provided in the pit during this heat so people don’t faint, but they made everyone pay. Also wouldn’t allow anyone to get water when the show was over. Overall disorganized and not nice staff for the most part! Just grateful I was able to be close!...
