Great little hidden gem. It doesn't seem managed or well taken care of, but without the trash and the graffiti, this place is a definite "must see", I would still recommend it even with all of its imperfections.

Nicknamed "Little Victoria", for when the water level in the lake is high it travels down the walls and it stretches along the sides of the falls similar to Victoria Falls in Zimbabwe.

It may not be as majestic but it is "Oklahoma" majestic and we will take what we can get. So take a day, bring sunscreen, towls, anything else you want to swim and play with while out there.

Parking is okay if it's not raining otherwise prepare for mud on your drive and walk to the falls. There there are two areas to park the main one and a small parking area at the back across the falls. It seems to be okay to park there, but I think it would be best that you go to the main parking instead for easier access.

Last thing, please, please, please clean up after yourselfs. Anything you bring down, please take back with you. Please do not allow any more damage to this amazing place. We were blessed to discover this place and take our kids, please help ensure many more generations get to enjoy this amazing...

Bluestem Falls is really in the middle of nowhere. Google Maps will get you there, but there's no signage at all. When you arrive (at a dead end that appears to be a former RV park), the sound of the falls will be the only indication that you're in the right place.

Follow that sound and you'll stumble - maybe literally, as the trails are rough - upon the falls, which are quite a bit larger than I'd anticipated from pictures I'd seen. You'll also immediately notice the downside of the area not being maintained by anyone: graffiti and litter abound. (If you live in a place where graffiti involves artistic talent, don't expect to see that. This graffiti is a product of boredom and cheap beer.)

Fortunately, it's not hard to see the natural beauty of the place, and I suspect that its relative obscurity helps. When my family and I were there, we didn't see a single other person.

Definitely worth a visit, especially if you're already in the...

This was a really neat place to visit. Lots of really interesting falls. For the time of the year It was also surprisingly not overcrowded. The biggest drawback was that the water wasn't very high in most places, and the water was really warm in the falls area. If you are afraid of wildlife, you should definitely be careful here. There were all types of critters everywhere. We discovered a den of harmless water snakes behind one of the falls, there were walls covered in thousands of millipedes, and tons of other creepy crawlies. I know that for many people that is a deal-breaker, But my family enjoyed it. If you want to discover cool places in the wilderness though, it comes with the territory. There is a lot of traversing You have to do to get to certain areas, and those rocks are pretty slick. There's also lots of uneven ground under the water that you have to...
