I highly suggest visiting Cavanal Hill. Between the gorgeous drive up the hill and the spectacular view from the top, it's definitely worth it. The houses on the hill were absolutely insane, some of the most beautiful houses I have seen in Oklahoma. Maybe it was the view they had and the scenery surrounding them that made them more beautiful but they were definitely gawk worthy. The road up the hill has a lot of tight turns so go slow, there is enough room for cars going opposite directions but there are no lines on the road so be aware of the space you're taking up. There are picnic tables at the top over looking your fantastic view, maybe pack a nice meal to eat when you get there and bring some binoculars if you got them! Lots of big birds were flying around. If you can plan to get there around sunset, I bet it's an absolute stunning experience at sunset.

Cavanel the world's highest hill. Mr Kerr had a very short mountain. Mr Kerr got a bulldozer. Mr Kerr dozed 10ft from his mountain to make it the world's highest hill, falling just short of a mountain by 1ft now. What am interesting thing to do. The road wound back and forth up the hill. My car was not very happy with me, but climb it we did and got photo proof. Now it's your turn to visit the world's highest hill. ??any chance that corrosion may have changed this height? Idk????

This was a last minute detour on our drive but well worth it. The road was fun driving up and down. The view was spectacular! Unfortunately the sign fell victim to graffiti, but if you don’t take your pictures to close you can’t see it too badly.

Cavanal Hill is THE tourist attraction in Poteau, but there is no investment in the attraction. The road to the top needs to be repaved, maintained and widened. There is no signage to direct visitors. The summit is a disappointment. There's trash all over the summit, picnic tables need to be updated and maintained. There needs to be tourism signage at the top, directing the attention of visitors to what is being seen below. Marketing is...
