A friend and I were passing through, and stopped here for drinks. A group of people came in early in the evening, and within the hour the men in the group became aggressive. They started confronting random customers and attempting to start altercations. This group of people were led out of the establishment by security. Everything seemed fine. However, maybe about half an hour later, there was another near fight breaking out. My friend and I noticed this was being caused by the very same people who were just led out. Apparently they were let back in. Again, they were taken out of the bar by security. Again, they were let back in. I would say this happened maybe three times, and patrons were visibly uncomfortable.
At this point, the women in the group started to get a little crazy with each other. My friend and I decided to go into the foyer to get away from the nonsense. We're sitting there at our table, and this group of women come out and are actively throwing punches.
I am no stranger to bar fights. However, what made this particular instance stand out, is at every other bar or club I've been to where something like this happened; even if it was men fighting each other, security would always break the fight up, and kick all offending parties out, maybe even call the police (but not always).
What happened here, is the two "bouncers" followed this group of fighting ladies and just stood back and let them duke it out. Let me be clear, these men were not tiny tots and could have easily pulled these ladies apart and stopped the fight. They weren't even outside! It was at this moment when one woman actually broke a beer bottle against another woman's face. Blood was pouring everywhere, and I just want to reiterate, this wasn't even outside.
My friend and I decided to leave at this point. My last glance at the situation, was "security" was finally pulling the women apart.
I am not sticking up for the people who were fighting and causing problems. I'm upset, because the first time that group of people started causing problems, they should have been kicked out for real.
I will never again go back to this place. I live within the area, and I have warned all my friends and family not to come here. I believe that a business' first priority should be customer safety. I did not feel safe here. There was a problem, and the people paid to take care of that,...
Read moreOk so this little place shows what quality and not quantity is all about! The four instead of five stars is because it is NOT open 24 hours, it closes at 2am. That is a big no no for a casino, in my opinion. I swear if one of these casinos in Oklahoma would behave like a full force casino they'd run the rest right out of business! Alas, considering the company they keep, this teeny tiny place has more packed into it's little walls then any others around them, and yes that definitely includes Buffalo Run! If this little joint was open 24 hours they would've gotten the other star! Because of arriving so late I could only experience what 35 minutes of exploration would allow, but despite arriving in time to hear the casino is closing announcement the doorman was courteous and welcoming. He wished us good luck after making sure we were aware that they soon closed and we were off. I played quite a few machines, all VGT quarter machines too which they have more of them Buffalo Run despite the size difference! They had just about every kind from all the machine families so probably nestled somewhere in it's comfy quarters is your favorite too. It is reminiscent of the old bingo halls, it probably once was exactly that in it's past. In the maybe ten to fifteen short minutes we played our play money doubled and we were happy as can be after such a disappointing playtime at Buffalo. So, if one were to find themselves in Miami visiting the local facilities here, they would definitely want to give this quaint little gem of a place a go and see how things turn out for their luck too! I will return during daytime hours to see what it has to offer without the time constraints. Thank you happy, helpful laughing eyed doorman for your pleasant and unexpected welcome at...
Read moreWell she's nothing fancy on the outside. Just a few steps from the cozy parking lot to the casino floor. There's a good variety of games and the machines seem to be well maintained. They should be. The maintenance budget should be generous, because the slots are just about as tight as I've ever played. Onerous is the word that springs to mind. Brutal. Yeah that works too. Miserly. If you don't get the picture then skip to the end and high tail it to Miami for some hot slot action.
Now I don't have any idea how to run a business and especially not that business, but since I gave them my business I earned the right to review. So as an observer, it seems to me the Quapaw aren't burning money on amenities, because there aren't any.
Some might argue the ancient tiny snack bar and a couple of restrooms are amenities and technically yes they are but also, I would argue that's preposterous.
That said, there are significant upsides to this place for the right demographic. For example, if you are the type who enjoys being bored, or if you're driven by a passion to be liberated from the stressful, real world limitations of having too much cash, then the Quapaw Casino can be your secret little gem, tucked away in a tiny town that shares the spelling of the name of a truly exciting American city, Miami, Florida. But that's the extent of the similarities. Not even the pronunciation...
