A highlight of my time on the Cherokee Nation reservation. This historic Courthouse has been impeccably restored and tells a fascinating story of Cherokee history and its legal system established after forced removal to Oklahoma. The staff are truly gems, do engage- ask questions and listen. The grounds are beautiful. Lots of relaxing scenery, water sounds, and shade. There is also a gallery space highlighting an incredible Cherokee artist. Do what you can to make the effort to visit this historic Cherokee location. You won't regret it

What a great historical place! The staff were informative and friendly. The important stuff was behind glass and the grounds are wide open. The springhouse was great and watching the crawfish in the rock-bottom mouth of the spring was relaxing. Say hi to Mr. Kitty while you're there! There is a 1.6 mile trail and the whole place has great trees and nicely manicured property great for outside play with children and some traditional Cherokee games and activities available.

This museum was a little bit on the disappointing side. The house has been nicely restored but there was just a handful of exhibits. They are having special speakers/artisans come and share their knowledge, I'd check when they were to be there. The grounds are beautiful and enjoyable to walk and the staff is great. We spent less than 45 minutes to see everything.

Well how can one expand on such a delightful little piece of paradise, Paradise is if you enjoy a relaxed setting nestled off the well treaded path. This quiet drive into the blissful countryside met by culture, history, beauty and a personal guide at the door all this an to boot there's a few more pluses an detached house a spring house that is. There's a. Upstairs in the main house that is rich in the very presence of just being, then glance out the window to grasp the view. I love the peaceful presence of nature mounted in history of the native culture of this land an the majesty she is. You can walk freely onoung the grounds, stroll to the spinghouse, where the water pours her essence from below to reveal herself to us. Just relax a. Breathe the fresh air it is all free here. Enjoy the featured artist each one has gained a grand amount of notoriety an each deserving of there placement. To all the graveyard hounds you will notice upon entry the little old graveyard nestled upon the hill along the main road, accompanied by the crisscross raw timber that...

A treasure of history and Cherokee culture. Beautifully maintained property, interesting exhibits. Josh the historical interpretor shared stories and information about the Cherokee people and the property that made us want to return again (and probably again after that too :)). Josh made the visit with his love and pride in being Cherokee and knowledge and appreciation of the natural beauty of the area. I am so happy to know this young man is serving the Cherokee nation and Oklahoma. Our history is in good hands. Thank you!

We also loved meeting Mr Kitty at the spring house. Can’t wait to come see the dogwood and the...

It’s beautiful! Full of facts & when we left, I was sad I didn’t “capture” anything. We went back in August 2020, and I was scrolling through the pictures yesterday, only to find I CAPTURED FACES. Plus a red orb! Red/Orange orbs in short, have taken on a “protector” role, which I find fascinating! These photos are unedited and authentic. And if you’ve ever been inside the main building.. you’ll know for a fact there’s no way any of this can be explained other than full apparitions. Go check it out!! I’ll try to attach photos but I’m not entirely sure how to do so,...
