Read moreA short weekend trip turned into a great get-away! Thanks to our little Casino side trip! Treasure Valley Casino, is a much smaller establishment compared to the sheer mass of Winstar. The slots are usually loose but beware, that can change on a dime! TreasureValley Casino offers a nice venue that's not too crowded, and offers an attached Hotel with an IHOP Express conveniently located in the lobby. (On this trip however, we opted to stay in Ardmore and use some point freebies since we were not here strictly for gambling.) The rooms in the Treasure Valley hotel were comfortable and we slept well on the last visit. No midnight Casino ruckus could be heard near or around our room, which is a plus for those of us who actually sleep at night! In the casino itself there's plenty of Slot machine choices and Black Jack tables as well. A wide variety of free drinks are available in a well kept self service area that offers vending machines for snacks and cigarettes. There's a bar next to the snack/drinks, but I've never gone inside. Well placed tv's are mounted throughout the casino and bar to broadcast current sporting events. The decor has a bit of humor added by incorporating holiday themes and whimsical pirate memorabilia. There's also a small section for nonsmokers as well but it's usually empty. The parking is combined for both casino and hotel guests, which can be a little difficult if you're hauling a trailer. Treasure Valley is always one of our first stops so we can just relax and unwind before hitting the local fishing lakes and rivers. We live in the Dallas/Fort Worth metroplex and the drive takes an estimated 1h 45m in sometimes heavy spotty traffic, due to constant ongoing road construction. These bouncy roads are crazy if you're in a big truck! To sum it up, we love this entire area! Remember, even for short roadtrips, plan on taking extra clothes if you're not a smoker, bcos after gambling, you'll want to change...
Read moreHad been traveling all night and needed a rest stop, so pulled in Treasure Valley because husband and I had been here before and thought the staff and casino were very sweet and charming. Anyhow, I stopped in for a rest nearly 3: am and went to the cashier window to get a replacement card because players club desk was closed. The lady that greeted me was very nice and as she was getting my info I inquired about Birthday benefits, due to my impending birthday soon. The other woman interrupted me, spoke rudely and judgmentally towards me then as the one who was assisting me tried to pleasantly cover the insulting behavior the rude woman snarked at her coworker and blatantly tried to make her look stupid and uninformed. Uncalled for completely! I know that we all have bad days but this stung me a bit. When i had the opportunity to return to the window and speak to the pleasant woman alone, I was astounded that even though she could have justifiably complain about the incident and her rude coworker, she professionally apologized, asked if I would like to speak to a superior, and implied that this woman's behavior was nothing out of the ordinary. I chose NOT to give any more energy towards a negative experience, but I most definitely want to let anyone who is in a superior position at this place of business know that they have a jewel of an employee buried in their overnight shift that deserves a notice. She also deserves a better coworker! Especially if this abusive woman treats her like this constantly. Probably won't come back, just want to speak my admiration towards a lovely human who shines bright in a world lacking in courtesy and...
