Years ago when this lake was hard to access it was an incredible fishery with many bass in the 4 to 6lb range and occasionally larger. 2lb and larger crappie were common place but now that it is a public park the fishing has dwindled significantly so keep expectations low. You can still have a good afternoon fishing here but people have taken too many large fish out and it just hasn't recovered. Hopefully a stocking program and an enforced slot limit can be considered to help boost fishing quality. There still has to be good ones in there it's just gonna be tougher to get em' out and if your lucky enough to catch a good one please return it to the lake asap, your kids and grandkids will thank you.
