Did you know Northwest Arkansas has its own whitewater park?! Just an hour from Bella Vista and Bentonville, WOKA Whitewater Park is a hidden gem right on the Oklahoma/Arkansas border in Watts, OK. This 30-acre outdoor adventure spot is free to access (just pay $10 per car for parking) and features a nearly 1,200-foot-long engineered channel perfect for kayaking, tubing, boogie boarding, or just cooling off. It's designed for all skill levels, whether you're a beginner or an experienced paddler. There’s restrooms, picnic table, trails, concession stands, and a changing area. It’s the perfect day trip for outdoor lovers looking for a unique water experience in the Ozarks! We did the all access 4 hour pass ($75) which allowed us to switch up our gear from rafts to kayaks to paddleboards. 🚗 About 1 hour from Bella Vista and Bentonville 🛶 BYO gear or rent locally 📍 Search “WOKA Whitewater Park” in your maps Tag someone you want to take on a water adventure! Are you wanting more adventure in your life and want to make the move to NWA? I'd love to help!!! #WOKA #WhitewaterPark #NWAAdventures #OzarksOutdoors #BellaVistaLiving #HiddenGemsNWA #NWARealtor #NatureLoversArkansas

We went today and it’s such a good deal for the money. I am giving it 4 stars because the kayakers that like to hang in the rapids are jerks and won’t move and when your in a tube you can’t control where you go and there’s only one way down. This one kayaker would not get out of the way and he hit my daughter’s arm with his paddle and she has a huge knot and bruise. He was even a friend or possible boyfriend of the person working there. So, it’s fun and inexpensive but sucks that they don’t have a separate area for the people wanting to ride the rapids in one spot and not move.

1 is for safety. I am lucky to be alive today. 5 for fun and 5 for affordability. Yes we signed a waiver, it was much more dangerous than I realized. I fell off my tube when I went underwater on a rapid on my 4th time down the course. My husband was worried but I told him I can swim and I held on to the tube all the way down the course. When I got the the last rapid before the exit I could not make it down. I kept spinning in a circle to the right. I held the tube with one hand and would paddle with the other hand so hard to the left trying to make it down the rapid, when I would spin I would paddle hard with my only free hand to the right trying to get to the bank but it was useless. My life jacket was loose and up around my ears and it barely held my head above water. By the 4th time of spinning around I was too exhausted to even keep trying to get out. I would have drowned if my husband wasn't on the bank. He told me to let go the tube and he reached his tube out to me and said grab the handle. He pulled me to the bank on the rocks. There was a kid having the same problem at the same time as me in the same location. His mom had no life jacket and was going in the water up to her knees with her hospital scrubs and shoes, extremely dangerous. My husband got that kid out using the handle of his tube as well. I was terrified. It is extremely irresponsible for this business to not have a pole or anything to extend to someone drowning, I wasn't expecting a lifeguard but a broom handle or pole would be helpful. I felt like I was swimming against a rip tide when I was stuck swirling, there is no getting out of it alive. I always had to jump off and swim to the bank at the exit in water...

Take out is Not safe.at all!! Going down the rapids was easy and allot of fun but getting out at the take out point is terrible. There isn’t any staff at the take out point to help if you needed it. No one would have known if you had been swept down the River. ( That in it self is not safe as everyone in your party is in the raft). Which can easily happen in the family raft. They are very hard to stop. We were not able to stop the raft at the take out point. We got out of the raft tried to push it over. My life vest came up to my mouth and the helmet dropped over my face while I was trying to help get the raft to shore ( staff which were all young adults sized me with the smallest helmet and life vest). I let go of the boat swam as hard as I could to get to shore trying not to get swept down the river. My husband and son were trying to get it over luckily 2 boys got in the water and helped or we would have been swept down the river. When I told the staff what happened I was told that’s why we signed a waiver. Price is reasonable you pay for 4 hrs but we only went down once since we were too concerned about getting out again. I wouldn’t recommend going unless they change the take out spot and have some thing or someone there to stop you from being swept down the river. they enclosed the rapids so they can make the take out place safer and easier. The kayak park was closed for a period of time for...

Lots of fun, but this isn't your leisurely lazy river float at the local water park. There's a lot of water in these rapids, which makes for an exhilarating ride, whether in a kayak or in a tube. There's a good reason why helmets and tight fitting life jackets are required. I also recommend shoes/sandals with straps rather than slip-on water shoes because the current can easily turn slip-ons into slip-offs (first-hand experience). If you're used to rafting the Grand Canyon, this may seem to be on the tame side, but otherwise, it's an adventure for those who look for excitement. Note that this is cut into a natural river, and it is possible to get swept out into the river channel if you aren't paying attention or aren't a strong enough swimmer to get to the exits (NOT first-hand experience 😀). Also, since it is a natural river, nature's critters can also be seen in and along the banks even in the engineered area.

As for the rentals... prices are reasonable, the staff is quite helpful, and there are many options available. At first glance the 4 hour rental period seems limiting but riding the rapids is strenuous work so...
