I have called and left 3 messages now. 6/10/2024 @ 12 noon; 6/10/2024 @ 2:30pm and now 6/11/2024 @ 9:15am.
Each time no one answered and I left a message. I still have no response
Here is my complaint. I paid a significant amount of money for a SEAT (not a STAND) at the venue to SEE the Headliner BROOKS & DUNN. They are one of my mothers favorite and I was treating her. We are regular concert goers and have attended concerts at numerous venues from Hanford, CA to Wheatland, CA, Murphys, CA to Concord Ca, and Tahoe, NV. We have seen Tanya Tucker, Hank Jr, Charlie Daniels, Alan Jackson, Travis Tritt, John Michael Mont Gomery, Willie Nelson, Josh Turner, Marty Stuart, Pam Tillis, Martina Mc Bride to name a few, We have been to indoor theaters and other Outdoor Amphitheaters, and venues in county fairs.
My mother uses a walker (mostly for the seat, cause she cannot go distances or stand for long periods of time) ,but she gets around good, though maybe a little slow. She takes her time and does not take chances for fear of a trip and fall. All this being said, since she could get to the seat that we paid for, there was no point to request special handicap seating (Or so we thought)
Brooks & Dunn did not come to the stage till DUSK / AFTER DARK, increasing the risk for a fall hazard, if moving about. However, once they (Brooks & Dunn) came on stage, everybody stood up. It wasn't just those in front of us, It seemed like everybody in the event. I spoke to those around us and the lady next to me, though standing, was unhappy, the 3 girls in front of us, Stood for a bit then sat down, then stood for a bit. I was quite upset, because mom COULDN'T stand for the length of the concert, and the UP and DOWN would have been worse, so she just continued to sit. She thought for sure after the first song everyone would sit down and it would be fine, then the second song came on and they continued to stand. then the third and they stood, by now it is completely DARK and we are on an interior seat and would need to get by people and garbage on the ground which increase trip and fall hazards. Needless to say we paid for SEATS and my mom was UNABLE to watch the show, let alone enjoy the show. On our way out she said well at least I can say I heard them live. I could have purchased her a CD for a hell of a lot less then the cost of the SEATS. I could have even purchased a DVD of one of their shows. She could not even see the big screens. The only view she had was that of the back sides of the people in front of her. Though UNHAPPY I did stand which hurt my feet and my back. I had a camera and was more focused on trying to get some shots and stuff for my mom, so I was unable to enjoy the concert. Of all the many venues I have been to, this is by far the WORST experience I have ever had. Mom is now second guessing attending concerts in general. So of all the GREAT shows we have been to THIS ONE experience was that bad.
Oh and to begin with, We had issues being able to get into our seats. Everywhere says use the app, do not print tickets, use the app. So I used the app. We got in so I closed the app. Then I had to get back in the app at the seating entrance to show my seat. When I got in no one, nor was there a sign that said for best use screenshot your ticket or Save Them to the Wallet. So we are trying to get to our seats, Luckily mom has her seat on her walker so she can sit, but the WIFI and DATA are like blocked or something in the back so I could not access my ticket to show staff to get to my seats. I had to find mom a spot in the shade, walk all the way up to the front guest services. They did FINALLY get it up for me, But the experience was EXTREMELY frustrating and inconvenient, I then have to walk back to the back and FIND Mom, then get through the ushers. Since this is my first visit to this venue, I asked where to go for section 210 and he said (and I am not joking) next to 211. ...
Read moreMy spouse and 2 adult children and our 16 year old son attended the Finger 11, 3 Doors Down, Creed concert last night. 7pm start time. We booked ahead for the lawn because we wanted to sit in the cozy lawn chairs we got 3 chairs areas of time and brought a blanket. We got there early 5:45 pm arrival to the parking lot. Parking was ok. We purchased fast Lane the day of and each brought 1litre of water sealed and had no issue with bringing in flavor packets for the water. We had picked what we thought was great spots mid stage back of the lawn.
Finger 11 played some good songs and sounded great.
This is when things started to go south. It was still light out and there were people all around us chain smoking weed, vapes, cigarettes and cigars we asked Toyota staff for assistance and they said they would send security (they never did)
3DD had a great message and was awesome but at this point the lawn was so crowded we could no longer sit because people were stepping on us but that wasn't the reason we stood up. People were PISSING 2 feet from us I said what the heck are you doing and the fine young man said "that's what the fence is for taking a pi$$" We moved after the guy in front of us almost burned my kid in the face with his lit cigarette. Medical tried to get a man who had OD'd out of the area and NO ONE moved for them. We got separated at this point but regrouped outside the concert seating area on the stairs to listen to Creed play. We made it 3 songs before my daughter had her whole a$$ grabbed two hands by someone. Where we were at during this time the speaker closest sounded like it was blown.😞 There was almost zero security visible anywhere on the lawn and we were looking. It was pretty sad there were several groups of people who were there early when we were who also left early before it even got dark. One couple said he had been to full on metal concerts where people were less high and rowdy than this Christian Rock Concert. What else was sad was to see the hundreds and hundreds of people who left early for what should have been a great concert but there was an entire lawn of disrespectful people ruining it for others. We have been to concerts at this venue before (Smashing Pumpkins last year) that were not like this but our friend was assaulted during that concert so at this point security is...
Read moreWent to Toyota Amphitheater for the first time to see Willie Nelson at the Outlaw Festival. Loved the layout of the venue—just not the way it’s run.
We got there 2 hours early and had no issues with traffic or VIP parking… mostly because they didn’t even check for a VIP pass. I’m sure everyone was suddenly “VIP” that day.
Brought a stadium seat clearly allowed per their own website (“soft seating pads without a hard frame are allowed”), only to be told by security I couldn’t bring it in. After 45 mins in line, I was faced with the classic “toss it or hike back to your car” ultimatum. Spoiler alert: I handed it off to someone already through security. If they get to ignore the rules, so do I.
Ticket scanning was another masterclass in inefficiency: 20 minutes to process a dozen people. But hey, once inside, food and drink lines were quick, and the venue was clean with a soft, dirt-free lawn.
Chair rentals were available, which might explain the no-outside-chair nonsense. Cute how they make money by denying things they say are allowed. On the plus side, all chairs were low to the ground, so at least no one's view was blocked. Yay?
The venue’s smaller than expected (18,500 capacity). Great views from the lawn, and the sun was mercifully behind us from 4pm on. Handicap seating on the lawn was free and staff there were kind and helpful.
Now, the popcorn scam: My mom got suckered into buying the refillable tub. We went back for a refill and surprise! No popcorn. Anywhere. After 30 minutes in line, we got told to go across the venue for more—because sure, I trust that you, worker #12 of 15 standing around doing nothing, know for a fact there’s popcorn on the other side.
Leaving the venue? An Olympic-level test of patience. One hour minimum to exit, even if you leave early. Two-lane funnel of doom. Concert ended at 10:40, we got on the road after midnight. Bring snacks, but don't test the hotdogs being sold on the way out-- pretty sure my boyfriend had his first taste of speed bump sausage.
Final tips:
VIP & handicap parking = same lot. Only ~20 handicap spots. Arrive early or be prepared to walk a mile.
Bag policy is aggressively enforced. Read it carefully. Then read it again. Then ignore it, and stuff everything down your pants because security will probably make up their own...
