Tantos lugares para visitar en Maryland. Lleva a tus hijos a una excursion. #LatinosenUSA #inmigrantes

I attended the Heritage Days at Woodland Manor. I enjoyed a rainy day hike on the Underground Railroad Trail. Our guide Mike is a history professor. He shared with us educational stories along the trail about ways enslaved people would have navigated the Underground Railroad. We also had an amazing tour of the barn which is now a Quaker Museum about Slavery. Our final stop was the front of the Quaker farmer's house. Dr. William Palmer was the owner of the farm who had 14 enslaved people who lived on the farm.

A great place for families. Children enjoy places filled with a variety of interesting fun filled, fact filled historical and cultural significance. Full disclosure: I am a Griot and Master Storyteller who performed at Woodland Manor for Black History Month. The staff and audience were wonderful. Everyone had a great time and some even learned something new! Can't wait to go back as a Griot, Master Storyteller and visitor. When you go there ask for Mark Thorne and tell him Baba-C sent you.

While the event itself was well done, their payment policy is horrendous. I lead a homeschool field trip. Printed out a whole Excel sheet with numbers of attendees and payment amount. When their number was $100 more than on my sheet I assumed my Excel sheet was wrong. So after the trip I looked over my sheet and saw my error, that I gave them a total attendees number instead of the total number of kids. I showed them my error and they said they don't refund checks. Then they said I already paid and they can't count the attendees now since they left. This is a county run facility, I can't believe the county is that greedy and refused to fix the payment issue. Now I'm out $100 of...

The Manor house is closed until further notice.

They don't mention this on the main page of their website. They expect you to find this out from a small plaintext warning on one of the subpages. Most websites like this would say that one of their main facilities is closed with a big banner across the top rather than expecting you to read every word on every subpage to find that out. They do not seem inclined to correct this issue when given constructive feedback about webpage design.

The staff also did not tell us the manor house was closed when they charged us. They charge the same amount as when the...
