The wide beach gives room for groups to gatjer and/or individuals to enjoy a little more privacy if you prefer. The beach is great for skipping rocks, enjoying the smell of salt water, or picnicking. A tall cliff space is the backdrop to the beach and provides the adventurous some options for more technical play. Burfoot Park's trails to the beach aren't technical, but involve plenty of stairs and uneven ground. 0.5 miles is what my watch reported on arrival to the beach. There are multiple routes to the water. We didn't spend time today in the upper park but there are bathrooms, shelters, a couple playgrounds, and a large field for open play - frisbee, ball play, etc.

Nice shelter, clean bathrooms, pet bags and ample parking. There's a lot of space to spread out here, with trails to the beach. There's some poison oak patches off the side of the trail near the beach but otherwise should be clear. There are a fair amount of picnic tables, grills (for when there's no burn ban in effect) and drinking water fountains. The playground area has fresh cedar chips and the structures were in good repair. There's ample space to spread out. I noticed an electrical outlet in the corner of the shelter, with a shelf - would be perfect for crockpots to keep food warm during a party, if those are allowed.

Gets muddy on the trails in the trees so make sure you have waterproof shoes on when it has rained. Some effort has been made to correct the really muddy spots. The trail to the beach is steep and the steps are rather iffy, but the beach is very nice with stones and gravel, not much sand. Dogs enjoy a dip in the water, no steep drop offs in the water. Nice and flat. We go there with the dog a lot in the summer. Thete are a few doggie bag dispensers scattered around in the various parking lots. There are several pagoda/shelters with bar-b-q's and trash bins scattered around up the hill. A nice play set for the kids with wood chip base. Two sets of public toilets that seem clean and tidy and have TP the many times we have used them. Sometimes at Squaxin the floor in the toilet area is wet so the ones at Burfoot are nicer. Great place to have gatherings...lots of open...

This is a beautiful park with a variety of areas and scenery that offers something for everyone. There's an extraordinarily large field that, while not flat, offers ample room for multiple groups to play ball, set up volleyball nets, or just throw down a blanket and enjoy a picnic. There are restrooms and water fountains on site, as well as a playground and a number of tables.

There is also a small number of nature trails in the adjacent woods, at least one of which goes down to a beachfront on Puget Sound. Large and open, it's great for sitting, rock hunting, or walking around and enjoying the view. The Capitol is visible from here, but just barely.

I recommend this spot. It's a bit out of the way, but is...

This is a nice park with decent facilities. It has lots of open grassy areas as well as plenty of shade. It is a good place for get togethers. But the best part is the abundance of trails that lead down to the shore of the sound where you can enjoy the scenery and splash in the water.

You are able to reserve a covered site, which is nice.

The only downsides are the overabundance of speed bumps, the narrow parking spots (I could hardly open my minivan doors on either side when all of the cars were squarely in their spots), and it could use a one or two more covered areas. Other than those small things it is a great location for walks, picnics, and hanging out with...
