Ok, lost keys on the beach may be the worst thing ever...but when a guy walks up to you and says, "you look like you might be trying to find a set of lost keys.." I replied that yes I am looking for my keys. This kind man then let me know that his son found some keys in the sand and was in the parking lot with a set and was pressing the alarm button trying to find out who they belonged to. I did give him my thanks and just then my wife was yelling from the walkway from the park that thay had found the keys! What a blessing! Janine pointed out the man who found the keys and I gave him a big thanks!

Lovely beach, a locals only-type, as you have to drive way past the Portage Point Inn! There's a one-room changing area with a pit toilet, 2 gazebos, a VERY nice handicap walkway down to the lake, and a pier with a lighthouse. There are four fire rings, usually, if you want to have a nice beach fire at sunset.

This beach is a treasure. We were here on Memorial Day weekend and there were maybe 20 groups. Fires are aloud in the designated firepits. The beach h is ean (so clean that the sand squeaks as you walk through it). This is NOT the beach for rock hunters, as there are little to no rocks here.

Beautiful beach that isn't very crowded and off the beaten path. Great place to have a fire, watch the sunset, enjoy the beach, and see great views. Awesome place to see fireworks. I vacationed nearby and came here five days in a row. The only things I would change are minor. Maybe some parking enforcement would be nice, they could use a few more trash cans, the bathroom could be cleaner and have tended to a little more often (it stayed in the same state for about 5 days), and lastly I would love to see clearer path marking from the beach side to the parking lot (it can be hard to find when it's...

This beach is awesome! Calmer waves due to the piers that extend out passed the Portage Lake channel. There are beach dunes to climb too. Stay on the well-worn paths. There are very likely dune conservation efforts to regrow dune grasses and trees for erosion. Parking is limited. Bathroom facilities are limited. Very thankful for this public beach access to...
