Read some recent reviews from golfers saying they weren't treated nicely here, however I must say that was not my experience AT ALL. I felt welcomed from the time I got there to the time I left. Snagged a Hot Deal so I showed up by myself, young lady at the front desk was super nice and range balls came with the round. Had a delightful convo with an older gentleman employee on the range. Paired up with another guy who snagged the HD and he was awesome. Every employee we passed during our round spoke (and there were plenty of them), as well as the patrons/residents when we went to grill. Track was in GREAT shape, gave me vibes of Oxmoor mixed with maybe Oak Mtn or Pursell Farms- challenging but fair layout. You can score well if you have your driver working. Greens were pure and rolled true. They weren't super fast today, but I can tell they were just a cut and roll away from running 11-12. New carts with GPS. Heard that the previous owner let it fall into bad shape, but whoever currently runs it is doing it right. They are investing the money and people to make it shine and it shows. I thought about keeping it a secret as I was able to play in just under 3 hrs, but they deserve to get the ROI for what they're doing. A bit of a drive for me so I wont be there frequently, but wouldnt hesitate to go back. If you've been thinking about going, do it- you wont be disappointed. Keep it...
Read moreThis course is one of the most beautiful in the state, but for $100 on Friday-Sunday I have some serious concerns. First of all, they don’t take cash anymore. Kinda weird but whatever. The chipping green practice area is in such terrible shape I almost couldn’t even find it when looking for it amongst the other big patches of untended mountainside grasses. There are no cart/service employees out on the course to offer refreshments during your round, which is maybe a little far fetched of me to expect but I paid $100 so I don’t think it’s too crazy of an expectation at that price. The staff didn’t mention anything about cart path only and there weren’t any signs out, however the GPS on the cart did notify me on a few holes that I couldn’t deviate from the path, however this was a total lie and it’s as if the staff just didn’t update their system for the day because just about every hole would geo-lock me out of my cart despite their being no warnings about staying on the cart path. I literally had 1 hole my entire round that I could drive on the fairway, and there were maybe only 5 holes that had a notification telling me that I couldn’t leave the path. I might as well have just walked my round at that point.
The staff are friendly and the course is beautiful, but for the price… I expected a lot more. I hope they get it...
Read moreThe course would benefit from the presence of a Marshall to start tee times. They had a large group coming in for a dog fight and our tee time was before this. Instead we got rerouted to the back 9 to start and suffered having to play behind a foursome of seniors who were walking.
Etiquette wasn’t much to be found on course to say the least. Our twosome was playing so slow we did everyone a favor and repaired roughly 100 ball marks in the greens to keep people from having to putt through a minefield. Cleaned up several bunkers while we were at it as well. Seems to be the norm instead of the exception here. Course also appears to be cart path only much of the time. Understandable today with it being wet, but just no signs of them ever letting carts off the paths at any time. The greens could be amazing if they were properly maintained. Just not the case right now.
The group that jumped in front of us really sealed the deal for me at the start of the round though. Won’t be returning at these prices for lack of people managing what’s going on...
