The Farm At Rocky Top — Attraction in Opelika

This experience was nowhere near what my family expected. Immediately when we arrived and tried to park, we were ignored by the teenage boys supposedly “in charge” of parking. An older lady came up to us and told us we couldn’t park where we had (it said handicapped) and I explained I had just had surgery and couldn’t walk far. She responded with “then get your husband to pick you up.” My husband told her the boys didn’t guide him where to correctly park and she said “that’s never happened, but okayyyy” in a very rude way, then as she walked away we heard her say other things rudely about us. We went inside anyways because we drove pretty far to get there, and it wasn’t any better. Nothing to do for my ten year old, very babyish, unlike the now sadly closed Paradise Pumpkin Patch. The food was terrible and the people working behind the counter were extremely rude as well (asked for bbq sauce for the bbq sandwich, which had none just pork, and was snapped at that they did not have any.) The man direct parking, I asked, where is the bridal suite? He yelled, what are you doing here? The Bride and groom are already married. They live in Florida been together for two years. ( I’m confused) inside venue was Very cold (No heating) Buffet, I asked for extra meatball on my plate. The server rolled her eyes at me. They have each served for every dish. I think 11 or 12 dishes, 11 or 12 server and 3 bartenders The all have on black T-shirt and blue jeans. Four more for cleaning. They keep throwing our drinks away. There was not enough seating my brother and husband have to stand up to eat. About 30 people didn’t have chairs to sit. They only set up for 100 guests, 150 guests was invited. They were rude the whole time to us. Is a very nice place, no air conditioning or heating. We found out later. They were trying to get rid of us early pulling tables cloths off and throwing drinks away. Just because they have some where to be early in the morning. To their families event...

Attended a wedding recently there. Upon arrival there is someone to direct parking which is nice.

I understand that it is a barn and it wasn’t summer time. However there could have been some type of heater turned on or something. It was freezing cold in the 30s that night.

I’ve been to plenty of weddings and the staff is usually universal on attire. This venue was not. They were in casual clothes. A simple black pants and white button up would have been nice so we can recognize they were venue staff.

The staff was not accommodating at all. From the buffet servers to the bar tenders. They were a mix of nice and rude. It’s a wedding venue. It’s going to be hectic but if you have the prior experience. You should be able to handle the pressure.

The bride was quoted one price but in the end it wasn’t the price they were quoted. If you are considering this venue for your wedding, please make sure you get it in writing the price...
