I knew I was going to Orcas and was excited to get a mug here. I looked at their site plenty of times before. I was there the end of April and found the perfect mug. three months later, there's a small crack, but about 3/4 the way around the bottom. I literally have mugs that are 40 years old, no issues. This one? Not even 3 months. And i only used it a couple of times a week, hand washed only. But things happen, right? It's not that something happens, in my book, it's how it's handled. So I wrote. Wow. I got blasted back. "I'm not there every minute after it leaves to see what happens to it." "somewhere it got banged, they don't crack for no reason." Oh, but wait, "send me a picture of the crack and I'll be able to tell if it's structural." Is it for no reason or structural. Both can't be true. Not that I expect them to say it was structural. I'm sure most of their things are just fine. But don't bother trying to deal with them if something happens. Their customer service is...

✨ Five Stars Isn’t Enough! ✨ I am absolutely over the moon with my experience at Orcas Island Pottery! Twenty years ago, when my husband and I got married, we had a custom, one-of-a-kind set of dinner plates, bowls, and ao much more made for us by Sid, the incredibly talented owner. We originally ordered 16, knowing that over time, a few might break.

After two decades of daily use, we were down to 11 dinner plates - and I reached out hoping it might be possible to recreate the same special pattern. Not only did they say yes, but they truly went above and beyond. With their new kiln and Sid’s expert craftsmanship, they were able to create a beautiful new set of eight dinner plates that match the originals perfectly.

The plates are absolutely stunning—elegant, meaningful, and filled with care. I’m beyond grateful to have these pieces back in our home, full of memories and ready for new ones.

Thank you, Sid, and everyone at Orcas Island Pottery, for your incredible work and heart. 💙 We...

My two kids and I stopped in on a whim this last Wednesday and are so happy we did. Seriously the most beautiful pottery i have ever seen! Each cabin was unique in what they offered.. full plate sets, vases, cookware, saki sets, pho sets, jewelry, magnets, etc. All in such amazing and unique patterns, colors, and styles.

The kids picked up some ornaments and a heart trinket and i picked up a large coffee mug with the most unbelievable pattern that reminded me of our island trip. The next day we drove home, I opened the back door to the SUV, and out goes the bag of pottery. All the things the kids got were just fine, unfortunately my most cherished mug was shattered before ever getting used. I was actually devastated. I guess another reason to go back to this extraordinary shop in the...

Seattle Area | Orcas Island: A Blissful Day Trip 🌴

You don't need to care about pottery at all, to have a positive experience here. There is a rocking tree house and swings for the kids. The adults get to appreciate those too, plus waterfront views and lovely gardens. But it's all about 3rd generation pottery displayed and merchandised beautifully, inside several structures, and most effectively, outdoors. This place is on the list for all of our island visitors, and they always buy things! Worth the effort, for sure!

Amazing works of art! Even if you don't plan on buying anything, this is a must stop on the island. The store/gallery is tucked away in the woods, and it feels like you're walking into another world, getting a sneak peak of the local life. All the artwork is displayed throughout the yard and store, and there's a nice view of the ocean from the backyard. Very friendly staff and prices were reasonable considering the time and effort out into each piece.
