Undoubtedly the best wine tasting experience we had in the valley!
I am struggling to decide how much of the tasting to describe here to garner interest while still retaining the delightful surprise the tasting entails.
Bryan greeted us upon our arrival in the driveway. The table was already laid for us with flight of glasses and the wines arranged in front of them. The room and the arrangements were top class! Housed in the beautiful erstwhile residence of the Bergstroms, this is a tasting flight that is paired with an exquisitely prepared small tapas style food (included in the tasting fee). The overall experience is a refined gustatory experience unlike any of the numerous tastings we did in the Willamette Valley. The story that Bryan told us of the Bergstrom family’s journey through wine just added to the delight of the wine tasting experience. The wine tasting ended with the Chardonnay, which was surprising at first. But once we tasted it, the Chardonnay became the highlight of the tasting, if not our trip. Who knew when we came to the valley hunting for the best Pinto Noirs that we would leave smitten by the Bergstrom Chardonnay!
Josh and Caroline have curated an exquisite tasting that is several cuts above the tastings available in the valley. This experience has my highest...
Read moreIt absolutely pains me to write this review, but we had a horrible experience here. Bergstrom came highly recommended and we were sure we would join their wine club but we had such a bad experience at our tasting, we decided against it. Our host, Avery, was rude, condescending and honestly ruined this experience for us. He talked at us the entire time, argued with our opinions of the wine and barely let us have a word in. At one point, he was arguing with me and my face turned so bright red that my husband noticed and asked if we should just leave. At one point I asked if they were considered a “newer” winery in the valley and he responded with “just because we are new to you, doesn’t mean we are new.” The tasting was painful… We were trapped in this small tasting area and it felt like it was never going to end. Finally, it was over and we asked him if we could explore outside and he responded “ya if you want to just walk around outside you can” without even looking up at us as we were leaving. No directions or recommendations on where to walk around the property. It was a huge disappointment! If you can get through the rude hosts and awkwardness- the wine...
Read moreMy family and I just left this place, and it was the best wine tasting experience I’ve ever had. Nicole, our sommelier host, was so genuinely excited to welcome us and share her knowledge. We learned all about the history of the family and how the winery and property have grown over the years. I learned a lot more about wines during this tasting than I did in my semester of Intro to Wines in college. The experience was very intimate, and the atmosphere was beautiful and relaxing. We sat in the “dining room” of the family home to taste our wines, and then we walked around the property while sipping our Chardonnay. We saw the vegetable garden, the bee hives, the meter-to-meter vines, and more! It was so nice, I didn’t want to leave! I also have to add that I am a vegan, and they were very accommodating with the...
