Beautiful views of the river and John Day Dam. You can see the local tribe fishing here too. There were several RV campers there who like they lived there full time. However, they paid me no mind, even as I walked nearby down to the river. If you're wanting a good view of John Day Dam, this is probably the best spot. If the seemingly full time RV campers camping/living there bother you, this is probably a place you should pass up. For what it's worth: I was here with my wife and son and we never felt unsafe. There are simple "pit toilets", trash cans, some picnic tables. Also boat ramp, and wind surfing, area can get quite windy. Overall nice place, some questionable people, but still a safe environment.
