Welp, it has flushing toilets!
Fisherman's Bend was my familys favorite camping spot! Unfortunately, it was destroyed by a fire...Sigh! It had everything a mom could want to keep all members of the family happy campers! We came to Hudson Park for our yearly family camping trip. Hudson Park had been recommended by a friend so we figured we should check it out. Hoping to maybe find a replacement for our Beautiful Fisherman's Bend. Unfortunately, the word that came to mind when arriving to our spot... underwhelmed! After what is about a 2 minute drive past a nice size cemetery, we reached out destination. Our first view of Hudson Parcher, pretty much said it all. It has flushing toilets, and showers. You have to push the button every 5 seconds for the water to stay on, but it's warm water that will get ya clean! The shower rooms are what you would expect from a campground. Not too dirty and not too clean! We booked Group site T-14. It's a nice size Field in the corner of the park with a few table's and a few tree's. We were right next to what I can imagine at some point was a really nice new fun playground... but during our stay, it was just an outdated, dirty... and a little creepy set of forgotten things in a field. There was also a basketball court, and baseball field. Both matching the theme perfectly! Our space was nice and big. Great for larger crowds. It does have restrooms just a short walk away. It was also right next to the street! It's not exactly the type of camping we're used to so it took some time to feel comfortable. It did have more of a field/schoolyard vibe, and not so much like you were camping in the woods. Perhaps it was the lack of trees. Who knows. We booked for 2 nights. We decided to stay just one. It wasn't all bad. We are a pretty great bunch, so we made the best of it, and there will always be a beautiful memory attached to Hudson Parcher due to a wonderful surprise during my stay there. Alas we will most likely not be revisiting Hudson Parcher and our search for the next Fisherman's Bend continues! Oh, did I mention you may or may not be woken up in the middle of the night by what sounds like hundreds of coyotes surrounding the camp site plotting how to make you their next snack? It's clean! Reasonably priced! And If field camping is your thing then this is the...

Problem is 90% of Oregon/Washington reserves campsites 14 years in advance (I’m part of the 10% who isn’t doesn’t know what they’re doing tomorrow), so I was left with Hudson Park or a day-use group shelter. I reserved online but when I arrived no name was on the board at entrance or on my campsite, and host was unavailable. They drove by me several times but never said a word, never waved back either. Group next to me was up until 1-2am talking/laughing as if it was 1-2pm. But that happens at every public camping locale, and I’m never quite sure how to approach those conversations without causing a disturbance or escalation of argument. That’s not the campground’s problem is my point. Not the best for scooters or skateboards, as a good portion is gravel. Great for bikes. Recommend NOT having a site right on the playground, which was the only one available. Didn’t use showers, but there were signs warning of vandalism and having to lock showers at night. Threats they would lock restrooms at night too if vandalism continued. So, am I supposed to tell my wife she can pee in the fire pit? Close to Columbia river, and we went down to Rainier park to jump in and cool off. Maybe 10 min drive. That’s probably the closest water activity. Creek there is stagnant and overgrowth makes it challenging to get to it. Hope this helps with next persons expectations. I didn’t have high ones, so I wasn’t really...
Read moreIf I could give it negative stars I would -5 First off when I pay cash at other camp grounds it shows up in my reserve America account staying here never did?? Makes me think the rude and over bearing park hosts who were constantly demanding additional fees for things like setting up camp in a site they claimed was reserved even though nothing was on the board and even after we packed up and moved to a different site and payed a 50$ fine for taking a reserved site no one else ever showed up. The bathroom were locked at odd hours,no hot water ,gross condition. Make sure you watch out for used needles everywhere but especially the bathroom. Strange people coming through all night long parking in odd spots doing who knows what. Seemed to be a regular stop for law enforcement during daylight hours. They should try rolling through at night and check on some of these odd balls parked in the bushes here and there.
Aside from the local addicts and their hazardous litter, the laundry list of bathroom issues , the shady park hosts and the occasional domestic violence. The place is a muddy mess the water smells like sulfur not much privacy between spaces The Walmart parking lot would have been a better rest stop on this leg of our journey. I’ve been camping at campgrounds since I was a child up and down the west coast hands down worst one ever. Unless your a junkie looking for a safe place to shoot up I would...
