A wonderful historic museum with many interesting displays that include whole buildings with their furnishings, such as a schoolhouse and a miner's cabin. We will definitely go see it again as it is worth a repeat visit.

One of the things I found quite interesting that I honestly didn't think I would was the Barbed Wire Collection. They have an extensively catalogued collection of different types of barbed wire and clearly a lot of love and time has been put into it. I found it delightfully charming.

If you are driving through this is a great...

This a small museum, local donor funded, with a ton of local history. I highly recommend it for families on road trips, or even for locals. I was passing through the area on vacation and decided to stop, because I had no sense of the history of the area. This museum even put faces on the founders of Kirby and the surrounding communities. I loved it and felt inspired. I am a writer from Oklahoma, but something tells me I may write about this. If you haven't been here and toured all the historic buildings on the property, you're...

The Kerbyville Museum is a great place to learn about Oregon and the Illinois Valley. The museum is completely operated by volunteers. They are extremely friendly folks who have a passion for preserving history. They're happy to tell you about the history of the area and direct you to local places of interest. We paid $5 per person (they rely completely on donations!) and walked through the museum for a little over an hour. Don't miss it if you want to learn about...
