Stopped here on a whim looking for a short break during a long day of driving. It was a great choice. Super friendly staff and interesting exhibits make for a nice stop.
I enjoyed the military history room, as well as the tidbits about local history. The Naucke house is a neat view back in time as well. One of the things I found quite interesting that I honestly didn't think I would was the Barbed Wire Collection. They have an extensively catalogued collection of different types of barbed wire and clearly a lot of love and time has been put into it. I found it delightfully charming.

I was passing through the area on vacation and decided to stop, because I had no sense of the history of the area. This museum even put faces on the founders of Kirby and the surrounding communities. They are extremely friendly folks who have a passion for preserving history. They're happy to tell you about the history of the area and direct you to local places of interest.
