This is a photo of the Knight's Covered Bridge (T3S-R1E-S32) built to replace the Joselyn Bridge which crossed the Molalla River near Canby, Oregon. The bridge was constructed by A. S. Miller & Sons between March and November, 1877, for a contract price of $3,500. Bridge superintendant A. J. Cason provided the plan for the structure. This plan included an 87 foot modified Howe truss and a 123 foot span that was a self styled ""arch-brace"" which was not a true arch but long diagonal braces spanning several panel points. High bending moments were introduced in the diagonals by the hanging of tension rods between the joints. The bridge had one major flaw, the bridge covering was too low not allowing loaded hay wagons or threshers with wheels to use the span. Despite this flaw, the bridge remained in service for seventy years. During the later years the bridge was replaced for use in vehicular traffic, but remained in use as a foot bridge until it was blown into the Molalla River in a severe windstorm on February 1, 1947.

pretty underwhelming if you’re expecting a typical park experience. There’s really nothing there except some rocks and a river. While the river can be nice for a quick stop if you’re looking for a peaceful spot by the water, there aren’t any amenities like benches, playgrounds, or picnic areas. It’s more of a natural, undeveloped spot rather than a full-fledged park. If you’re into simple nature spots and just want a quiet place by the river, it might be worth a visit, but don’t expect much else!

An absolute treasure! Clean, slow moving river that is perfect for kids and their adults to splash around / swim in. We went on a Monday and it wasn’t crowded but I could see it being crowded on a weekend. We found a couple species of fish, water skippers and a crawdad. Bringing our floaties next time. We used a wagon to bring our stuff down (me and the two littles) and I would bring myself a chair next time. It’s rocky so sitting on a picnic blanket is a little bumpy.

I used to come here a lot before covid and it was really empty usually only like 3 other groups of people and sometimes just us! But ever since like covid ITS BEEN CROWDED. I don't know who made this place famous but now my parents and I don't go there anymore because whats the point there's no parking anymore and even if there is there's probably no more space at the little beach and to many dogs in the water ( I love dogs but I'm allergic so the fur that sheds in the water gives me allergies)

But when there wasn't to many people it was a nice place to swim in that was calm BTW the last time we went to "swim" in the river there was no parking left and to many people and that was 2021 or 2022 I don't remember but I think it was 2021

Also I would come here anyways but my parents would say no now because to many people and dogs so yea.... Btw I'm a kid not a professional I just miss swimming here

( ALSO PLEASE TELL ME WHEN THERE ARE LESS PEOPLE THERE SO MAYBE I CAN GO HERE AGAIN PLEASE IM BEGGING YOU!!! And also is it still crowded? If not i will...

I really like what this park could become. Clean out the invasive ivy. Clear the brush. Destroy the blackberry deathtraps. Add some landscaping and a real paved parking lot and this place would be a great destination. Canby, step it up, this place could make more money than what you would spend making it awesome.

Eidt for summer 22:

Some of the trails have over grown with blackberries. Making some of the south trails to lesser used areas challenging. Again, Canby you are doing this place a disservice. It could be a great park.

Parking can be challenging. Check Google...
