Lake Billy Chinook — Attraction in Oregon

Amazing place to vacation. We camped at Crooked River Campground in the Cove Palisades State Park. The campsite was large and the bathrooms were cleaned everyday. Clean showers were a blessing at the end of the day! There was lots of wild life and deer. Hiking trail and small amphitheater area for a large group gathering. AT&T had reception but T-Mobile users were out of luck in camp. Lots of fun on the water. And grassy tree shaded play area for kids on the bank with protected swim area right next to boat launch. Made it easy to take turns on the water with large family. There is a courtesy dock that was extremely useful. There is a kayak launch too. Great to board kayak roller launch into water easy . There is a marina for fuel and general store for things you forgot( like a case of water) . Lots of opportunity to rent house boats, jet skis and other watercraft. Would suggest to go to “clear water” where the green water of Lake Billy Schnook meets the fresh mountain river. The water in the river is crystal clear and cold which is a big contrast to the green warm water of Billy Schnook. The rock canyon walls are beautiful. Lava, pressure and time have created works of art. Nature is beautiful. On land I would suggest to visit the scenic look out points. You can see Mount Hood, Mount Jefferson, and the Sisters. I went here for a Christian summer camp with my church and I got to meet a lot of new people and make a lot of friends especially kids around my age and some really cool leaders. There were areas where we could go on Shore and hike or walk around if we wanted to we were also able to canoe and swim almost wherever we wanted. We stayed on houseboats and it was a really fun experience to know what it's like to live on a boat and to get closer to God. The only not-so-fun part was the almost a little over eight hour drive but it was still cool because we got to ride the whole way in tour buses that had TVs and USB ports so we have entertainment .I will still definitely be going again next year and making even more memories and strengthening my relationship with God. Cove Pallisades state park, the three rivers community and Lake Billy Chinook, in Culver are a sight to behold, the canyons from the town following the outline of the lake up to three rivers and then into the marina is a spectacular if hazardous drive (falling rocks), and never ceases to amaze, never busy, terribly overlooked in terms of scenery, opposite the Warm Springs native nation and the pelton dam, Round Butte mountain which has a spectacular 360° viewpoint over the Cascades, been 7 times, going to visit again in Feb.
