Minam State Recreation Area — Attraction in Oregon

Nice location, excellent fun river for tubing it cooling off. Campground is wide open so no privacy if tent camping, so if someone shows up with a trailer and annoying generator to "camp". Camp ground gas a horse shoe pit. A lot of very aggressive yellow jackets. Mosquitoes were not too bad. Pit toilets were clean. Fires are banned now, but you will need to bring your own firewood. This is a small campground on the Minam River. Scenery is spectacular, sites are primitive with no hookups, gravel spurs, vault toilets and low nightly fees. Fishing and rafting are the big draw here. Numerous nearby companies provide rafting experiences. A small store is nearby across the river. This is a quiet gem of a camping area. Generally, it is not too crowded. It lies at the end of the road. The road is rough, and must be driven slowly.
