Pretty disappointed in our experience here today. The winery grounds look lovely and the tasting room is beautiful and comfortable, but the food and wine left much to be desired. My friend and I opted for the $16 Enthusiast Flight rather than the $11 Exploratory Flight, but out of the 4 we tried, there was nothing that I would want a full glass of. The chardonnay was wonderfully buttery, which made it unique, but its rich taste was a bit heavy. Of the 3 reds: malbec, cabernet, and tempranillo, none was fragrant, and the cabernet and tempranillo were very dry. My tongue was dry after sipping the cab and the tempranillo had an unappetizing aftertaste. My friend and I couldn't continue drinking the wine and left most of it on the table. I'm not very picky so it was surprising that there were so many poor wines. My other friend wanted sparkling wine that wasn't sweet and was recommended the less sweet of the two available, but it was still quite sweet and she left that nearly untouched too. It was also disappointing that there was no description of the wines. No details were given in the menu, and the server gave us small carafes with our wine samples all at once. She did tell us to let her know if we had any questions, but I didn't see her again to offer my feedback.
We wanted to order food as well and asked if the charcuterie plate could be made with more cheese instead of meat as we didn't want meat, but the server told us that wasn't possible because everything was pre-portioned. It seemed like a strange answer because there are many people who don't eat meat these days. Instead, we tried the artichoke dip, which came with much more bread than dip and was cold and largely flavorless. Honestly, I can't see a reason to come back to this winery. Our server was polite but unable to accommodate our simple requests, which we understand wasn't her fault. However, we had a much better experience with tasty wine and food at EdenVale...
Read moreYou really can't go wrong with the setting, especially on a beautiful, sunny day. However, our service was horrible. We ordered two flights and weren't told anything about the first taster, not even what variety it was. We got the name of the second, a little explanation on the third, and just the name on the fourth. I know they were busy with an event but we were also paying customers. They also explained that they were now doing sections and the waitstaff was still getting used to it. Which is fine but they also forgot our hummus plate and when we went to check on it, they blamed us for moving our table 5 feet (still in the mulch and not onto the grass or anything) and that that probably messed up the sections. Nevermind that we also had a number stand for our table. We saw waitstaff attending every table but ours. I guess they need to get their sections down and maybe practice more when not open and not on a beautiful Friday evening when they're busy. On a positive note, their wine is enjoyable and at least we had the...
Read moreMy sister and I stopped by 2Hawk during our layover in Medford. Our wonderful hotel recommended it and shuttled us over!
Immediately, the tasting room is beautiful and modern rustic. So perfect for the holidays.
They sell candles by the name of wine but they smells are very classic scents. Chardonnay was the best smelling for me. Sweet& spicy. Other merch includes hats, and wine glasses.
Our waitress Taneil(I’m probably spelling it wrong, sorry) was very welcoming and gave thorough descriptions! She let us know that Pinot noir is their most popular wine but my favorite was their rosè. It’s a dark colored and full bodied sparkling rose. Very unique.
The artichoke dip is so yummy and perfect to accompany a tasting between two people.
Since we each got the same “exploratory” tasting menu, they came in mini carafes which we poured ourselves into wine glasses.
During our visit, one of their members, Charles treated us to our wine. Thanks again! We would...
