I am disgusted!!!! Let me first say, i have been to sisters well over 100 times. I have spent $ at hotels, gift shops, art galleries, bakeries, groceries, and gas for 40 years. I HAVE LOVED SISTERS FOR DECADES. Myself and extended family has visited so many times. The sisters bakery is wonderful and we always plan to stop there and also at the wonderful Mexican restaurant on the main drag. Been hiking, camping, etx in the area many times. Very disappointed that e bikes are not allowed on this trail. Discrimination!!!!! Horse poop piles the size of a small dog , racing mountain bikes, dogs..all ok but no ebikes!!!! Very disappointing. Funny that mtn bikes can skid by and nearly knock people down...but no ebikes. You are actually discriminating because a lot of us over 40 yr olds want to get out and ride but have various back, leg, etc issues so the ebike part makes us able to tackle places like this. It is so gross to us and believe me, we discussed this with a few ebike shops in the area...that sisters and bend are anti ebike. Somewhere that claims to be open minded....lol. There are websites up that are listing anti ebike cities....i bet sisters and bend will be on those lists. This actually has made us vakay elsewhere!!! JUST SET A SPEED LIMIT FOR EVERYONE. THE MAJORITY OF E BIKE RIDERS ARE OLD DUFFS LIKE US AND WE NEVER SPEED. STOP THE...
Read moreThis is such a fun trail system, and what a great resource for the city of Sisters! The "ladder" design of the trial makes it super easy to choose-your-own-adventure, riding as long or short as you like and keeping things beginner friendly or a bit more challenging. We rode up the PRT East to #22, then took the Turkey Hollow connector to Peterson Ridge Overlook (which is spectacular!) before retuning on PRT West for a loop of 11.5 miles.
We were in the area to ride some of the MRT, but it was still a bit sloppy, so we made a day of riding Peterson (March 29, 2018). Apparently the trail was snowy the week before, but had dried out and was perfect the day we rode! I can see how it could get very dry mid-late summer though; locals said it doesn't get too dusty, but it does get soft/sandy. Looking forward to going back and riding all the...
Read moreWhile not as extensive as Bend's network of trails, Sister's PRT is one I come back to again and again. Whether you want easygoing, rolling flow or double black diamond technical, you can knit anything together with this system because of its unique configuration of parallel East-West out-and-backs linked by dozens of connectors equally fun to ride as the mains. Underrated, underappreciated, and underridden, which is part of what makes it a five star experience....
