We went during the week only ones there. It is a nice park. Has a lot of shade trees, a sandy beach area, clean restrooms.

Deplorable. Do not stay here is you are NOT an elderly rich white person! We were repeatedly harassed by the gate attendant and chased out early the following morning. We paid almost $50 to be accosted and chased out of what would have normally been a wonderful family get together and camping trip. They really need to put up a sign that says NO MINORITIES PERMITTED.

We stayed just one night. There were three families, two families drove in from out of state to spend a few days, 8 adults and 6 young kids. The older woman running the gatehouse seemed okay, until she looked at their brown skin and black hair and asked if "all of them, speak english" "Do they understand english", she said? I told her yes, they do. Because there were 14 of us she told us we'd have to pay for two campsites, we said okay even though we would just be using one. Looking back, we should have just left and went down the road to a better campsite after her racist comments at the checkin gate.

We began to cook dinner, only for her to run over to our site and tell us that the guests in the surrounding RV's had called to report that we had a fire going. We were starting a charcoal grill, naturally there will be white smoke but no fire. She came over and was pleasantly surprised that we did not in fact have a bon fire. Later and all throughout the evening the other gate attendant and maintenance man would drive by in their vehicle and on bikes to check on us. They didn't check on anyone else, it was just us! So, we set up our tents on a patch of gravel, no complaints. We just wanted to be close as a family and take our kids camping for their first camping experience.

Needless to say, that did not happen. At 2 AM the sprinklers came on, and I hate to say it but they soaked the back of our tents so even tho we pitched them on the gravel, the over arcing motion of the sprinkler doused the site.

Early the next AM we woke up to see the maintenance guy, again driving very slowly past our campsite. He was looking for anything that he could see that was out of place or any rules we had broken. Needless to say we hadn't broken any, so he just kept watching us. Not any one else in the park-just us.

I went fishing early that AM and on my way back in, I stopped at the gate. The old hag who repeatedly accosted us, scolded me and told me that "Those kids clogged up the toilet in the mens bathroom, and the office is over two hours from here, We're gonna have to call them in to fix it and it's very inconvenient." Needless to say last time we were there, an elderly man who used an entire roll of bath tissue did the same thing. It happened again and guess who were blamed, half a dozen mexican-american kids under the age of 12. Not only did we get nasty looks for the fellow retirees camping in their RV's, they acted like they felt unsafe and the mexicans needed to be lynched.

I calmly reassured the hag at the gate that we did not do it and this occurred last time during our last stay but we didn't have the kids with us, so there was noone to blame. Oh did I mention that they locked the Women's restroom that night? These restrooms are not locked and are supposed to be 24 hours, however someone felt the need to lock it so women in my family couldn't use a bathroom. Not only is this incredibly dehumanizing, but its illegal!

After numerous fabricated complaints from fellow retirees the gate agent felt the need to speed up into our camp site, get out of her SUV to yell, "We are gonna have to have another talk. There are alot of rules here, and they need to be followed. You cannot park three cars here, the limit is two!". I cut her off and I told her that we were leaving! We were loading up our stuff to go! We would be gone in the next half hour. I asked everyone to pitch in, we've never packed so fast.

Do not stay here if you are a minority or look even slightly different than an old retired white couple. They need to put up a sign THAT TELLS WHAT TYPES OF PEOPLE ARE PERMITTED. We will not be back. I'll see them in small...

This is a small park on the Washington side of the Columbia River just 1.5 miles off the Hwy. All but 3 of the 32 paved campsites are pull-thrus parallel to the single paved road that runs thru the park. A gravel area holds a picnic table and fire ring. The whole park is treed and there are some branches to negotiate around getting in and out of some of the sites. Getting a clear sky for your satellite will be very challenging. The flush toilets and showers were dated but clean. About half the campsites are full hook-ups and others are electric/water only. There is a dump station on site. Sprint phone and 3G worked well in the area. We stayed here in our 40ft motorhome with toad and got in and out without any problems. Big rigs should not be afraid to come on in. The park is very quiet and peaceful. Staff was friendly...

Stayed here one evening during a 2 week motorcycle trip. Located a couple of miles from I-82 on the Washington-Oregon border. This park is operated by the US Corps of Engineers and has a campground and a day use area on the Columbia River. The campground is off the beaten path in Plymouth, WA, but is just a hop to Umatilla, OR for food and fuel. PS: the G&J Freeze in Umatilla delivers!!

Spacious pull through/trailer sites with hook ups and a huge grassy area for tent campers, where we stayed. One building for bathrooms and showers, a bit of a walk for tent campers, but was very nice and clean. The hosts were super friendly and informative (they recommended the Plymouth Tavern for tasty prime rib). This is a camping gem...
