Roloff is overpriced and overrated.
As most reviews state, it's really just for the kids. Previous people have reported that going on the farm used to be free, that is no longer the case, when you purchase the $26 per person over the age of 2 combination ticket (which you should if you're an adult because that grants you access to the Wagon Tour and locomotive train loop). I think charging CHILDREN over the age of 2, $26 is ridiculous. I think the Roloff family is scrounging for money because the TV network, TLC, doesn't want to pay them anymore.
Getting two pumpkins cost us $42 at Roloff, we denied and went to "The Pumpkin Patch on Sauvie Island, Portland's original" and paid $30-$40 for 4 (bigger) pumpkins instead.
There's a single hay pyramid so the typo of "pyramids" is false. Chickenopolis would be a better attraction if they had more than 4 chickens dispersed over there 100+ acres. The food court is limited and again, overpriced. There's no giant sand box. The spooky forest is a great photo opportunity, again, something to appeal to the adults. Trike Track is again only for children. Busy Bunnies Area consisted of 2 bunnies. Rail Rollers and Tower $ Slide Play Area was fun for what it was. Duck Races are racing plastic ducks down a water tube. Pumpkin Express Train didn't exist. You have to pay extra for the face painting (on top of tickets, food concession, and pumpkins). Inspiration Viewpoint is a photo opportunity. Air Gun Cannons are only shooting tennis balls. Roloff Coffee House, Horse Shoes, Huge Wooden Airplane, and Lawn Games were nothing too jaw dropping. Little Lucy Big Race Game didn't exist. Mini Golf didn't exist. There's no bell at the Schoolhouse Fun. You can't go into the Teepees. The Country Store just sells Roloff merchandise, nothing too exciting neither cute. GOLD Panning, the water looked disgusting. The 3 Little Piggies were cute. The Goats, Sheep & our Cow "Harley" are only viewable by the Wagon Tour (which you have to pay for separately if you didn't purchase the combination ticket) and again, nothing too exciting. Spot the Big Foot didn't exist unless it was in the Spooky Forest. Tire Monster didn't exist.
We didn't know any history about the farm until after taking the Wagon Tour and realizing that it was based off the show: Little People, Big World.
The Roloff Castle and the Western Town were the only exciting attractions at the Roloff Farm. Noah's Ark and the Gotel were cute ideas but poorly executed. Spider Alley does get you wet so if you're bringing food/drinks just be aware they let bubbles fall on you and it's A LOT.
If you're an adult, save your money, it's not worth it. Needless to say, we're not coming back, this is clearly...
Read moreseriously, please do yourself a favor and visit roloff farms!
i grew up watching their show and had always dreamed of visiting. fast forward to october 3rd and i had talked my friends into going with me (i’m from minnesota, my boyfriend is from oregon, and one friend from each washington, florida, scotland, and maine). this was part of my boyfriend’s birthday and we also had some of his longtime friends from his hometown meet us there.
i couldn’t find much information regarding how much time to plan on spending at the farm. well, we were there for four hours and wished we could’ve stayed longer. we had such a blast. the farm is beautiful and everyone was so kind, of course including the family. it was well worth the price. i can say this is such an incredibly well run operation and their years of expertise truly shine. my credentials are that i was a survivor of going to halloweentown in st helens which is so poorly planned. i love supporting local and there were many opportunities to do so here. some of us got our faces painted, we had lunch here from the vendors, we got some merchandise, did the new paintball experience, cannon launch, played with a ton of the games and activities, and went on the incredible farm tour. please don’t skip the farm tour- it’s so worth it. there is a ton to do for kids, but all of us were ages 20s-40 and we had such a blast. everything was well set up and it really shows that there is so much planning, dedication, and love put into this experience.
this is really worth the trip and it is so close to other things to do in oregon so there’s no reason not to visit if it’s open. thank you to the roloff family for sharing your love with us and for helping my sweet boyfriend, Alberto, have the best birthday ever.
i really hope to...
Read moreNot sure where to begin and not be so long Winded! At any rate I am from western New York (Buffalo)and have adult children living close by the Roloff Farm. The day was magnificent, blue sunny skies and warm. I arrived solo and immediately inquired how I could partake in a tour. Nope even though they had a spot was told no. Extremely disappointed! However I made the best of it. To start employees are very nice and friendly! Parking very good as well. The grounds are beyond words. Amy and Matt have worked many years to bring this property to the current state. It’s like out of a magazine but better!!! I just stood and looked in every direction at the beauty of this property! At every turn something caught my eye. I must mention Amy was there and out in plain sight to talk about the farm over the years. She was upbeat funny and a true lovely person . I inquired where the rest if any one else from the family was around . Matt was off on his gator very busy at work. Never stopped . I was disappointed . There were no grandchildren around. At the very end as I was leaving somewhat disappointed, I ran into Zach! Wow he is so nice. He chatted and appeared to love the farm as much as his parents! To sum up the visit pumpkins galore, fabulous buildings/homes and grounds, needed more owner or family presence and or interaction . I do understand they have lives but the season is short and this is a destination!!! My favorite was the three little pigs! You must go to see that if nothing else . And Glenda the nice witch is a sweetheart! The race track in the making should be a ton of fun for...
