This is a cool state park on the Columbia River and has a reputation for its nude beach area. Many people frequent the area for paddle boarding, kayaking, fishing, and taking in the scenery! On windy days, when the surf kicks up, you'll most likely see wind surfers. There's also two different beaches located in the park. One is a family-friendly area, and there is a clothing optional location that has strict rules for its use! It's got a little lagoon area and picnic tables and restrooms located within the park. The sunsets from this location are stunning! As always, leave no trace, leave it better than you found it, and enjoy 😉!

Lovely spot, not crowded, with LOTS of open space to stroll, run, etc. Restrooms astonishingly clean for a park. Love the pet exercise area, I felt totally safe having my dog off-leash even though his recall training is still in the works. We came on a weekday afternoon and there was hardly anyone else. There’s a little trail down to the water, too, and I picked up a couple cool rocks. Had a little picnic overlooking the Columbia, absolutely delightful.

Found this nook when I wanted to pull over to catch the sunset and I’m so glad I did. When you’re heading west the sunset is blocked by the other shore in many earlier parts of the freeway until here. Caught it just in time! There are picnic benches and a wet area that is constantly chiming with bird calls. There is also a skunk and raccoon, they were cute and kept their distance.

To the ranger on duty on Tuesday Aug. 9th 2022 appr. 3pm: WHY DID YOU DO THIS TO US??? We entered the visitor center and asked whether the Discovery pass is valid (it is not - our mistake: wrong state), you told us "It is not valid, but no need to buy a permit, just enjoy the park". As we did not want any hassle, we asked again "Really?", and you "Yes, just enjoy the park!" Result: 65 $ fine! WHY ON EARTH DID YOU DO THIS TO US?? Making us not to buy a 5$ permit, to give us a fine and spoil our day??? Sometimes I do not understand...
