I went to Timber Park yesterday (Sunday) with my family to launch our kayaks and SUPs. It was very busy at 11:30AM when we arrived but luckily someone was just leaving from the lower parking lot so we got a spot right after unloading our stuff.

There is a dock or a small beach to launch your vessels. No official kayak launch (we saw one across the river at a campground though).

We paddled past the Estacada bridge, saw a waterfall on the way (one of the few places to easily switch SUP for a kayak with family if you want to), some baby ducklings, and a ton of people on the water!

By the lower parking lot there was one port a potty next to the disc golf area (I saw a handful of people doing that while I was waiting for the potty and they seemed to be having fun). There was sanitizer and toilet paper but it was pretty full and smelly on a hot day.

In the upper parking lot there is a three stall bathroom with flush toilet, toilet paper, and soap! I recommend going there instead. Next to the upper parking lot there is a nice looking playground. My son would have loved it!

All around, an excellent place to go for a day of...

Area: *Alot of cops, be aware of your speed limit or weed/alcohol content when driving around the city of Estacada.

Employees: *Rangers in the park will announce/warn you of the 8pm closed gate rule periodically starting at 7pm (in a cordial manner).

Place: *Clean & clear water you can swim in. *No motorized boats allowed - perfect for SUP, canoeing, kayaking etc. *Picturesque - backdrop of green trees and calm blue waters.

Pet: *Perfect for dogs (unleashed too). *My dog loved the big open space and lake!

Pros: *Easy to find parking at 6pm on Saturday. *Free parking (machine was broken though). *Easy & straight forward boat launch.

Cons: *Lots of families/kids. *Strict closure at 8pm. *Picnic area was dry w/ lots of flies & bugs.

Tips: *Come early! We felt rushed since we did not know about the strict closure at 8pm. *Bring a hat and sunscreen - not much shade. *Only 1 porta-potty...

I was there a month ago for an 80th birthday celebration. Great space, was nice weather, enjoyed myself. My last visit was a celebration, but it was Tim Shibahara's celebration of life. Perfect venue for his memorial because he'd spent so much time there in life coaching, playing disc golf, and other activities. Perfect in space, because they had originally estimated 700 guests! I didn't walk around too much, but it easily accommodated my guess of at least 200. Plus set up for speakers, food, shade tents. It seemed the perfect place for why we...

I love all of the activities to be had here at Timber. I personally go for Disc Golf and the course is fun and well maintained. There is also access to the water, and I see a lot of paddleboarders using the lower parking to spend a day on Estacada Lake. Currently there are no parking fees, but I'm sure that will be back soon. The only reason I'm not giving them a 5 star is that there is a water/sewage treatment facility next door and when the breeze hits it just right on a warm day, is not so enjoyable. I did like this little memorial for a lost friend.
