We have stayed at this campground many times. We have never had any problems. The current hosts however, have totally ruined it. We stayed there over Labor Day weekend and it was a miserable experience. In the sites with hookups, you're allowed a trailer and two vehicles. It's clearly written on the front board as you enter. The husband/wife hosts approached my teenage daughter to move one vehicle while I was not at the site. She told me about it but, I knew we were following the rules 100%. So, I waited for them to come back around. I was sitting quietly at the site when the wife came stomping into our site demanding that I move the car immediately. I tried to explain that we were completely following the rules and she got louder and louder demanding it be moved at that exact second. Then her husband came up and screamed at the top of his lungs to move right this second. I told him I would move it in a few minutes ( I wanted them to leave first because they were clearly out of control). He said he was going to call the sheriff. Then they stormed off. My brother went to find their supervisor and they told him to pack our f$&## sh*t and leave right now. Well, my brother found the supervisor and the hosts we're screaming over my brother as he was trying to explain what just happened. The supervisor told the hosts to shut up and walk away. Supervisor completely agreed with us and we stayed. As my brother was coming back to the site, the wife tried to hit my brother with her golf cart. We then had to call the sheriff ourselves. The sheriff had to come out and warn her about her behavior. They completely left us alone for the remainder of our stay but, had the supervisor not been there, they could have made us leave. We won't go back as long as...
Read moreRead other reviews and we were excited to stay at this campground. Upon entering the campground, we were greeted by a friendly camp host. When we pulled up to our site (#50), we were disappointed to find that our site was VERY close to the neighboring site. This was not represented well on the site map. In measuring, our fire pit is approximately 25' away from the neighbor's fire pit and if there was another camper staying at that site, their trailer/RV would be 5' from the corner of our trailer. Thank goodness no one was staying at that site during our mid-week visit. Our site had partial foliage and we were located in dirt which is somewhat normal, but hard to keep out of tents and trailers. Just hope you're never here in the rain as you'll be located in a mud pit (this is applicable to the majority of the sites we saw). Instead of hearing a beautiful creek, as described by other reviews, we enjoyed listening to the sounds of traffic from the highway- cars, the engine braking of truck haulers, etc. The bathrooms were clean, although, not in the best shape- missing lock on men's stall door, although my wife said the women's restroom was clean. Can't verify the showers as we didn't use them. They have a nice grass area for dayuse. Cannot recommend this campground to others and will not be back as their are much better campgrounds to...
Read moreWe camped here overnight after a few days of dispersed camping up near Mt. Adams. We were met by a delightful park ranger/greeter/maintenance guru who welcomed us and described our camping options. The park sits along the banks of the West Fork Hood River which drains from a glacier on Mt. Hood. There are tent sites, RV hookup sites, and group sites nestled in a beautiful forest of maples, Doug fir, and Ponderosa pines. There is considerable privacy for most of the sites and a couple of the sites will accommodate lengthy travel trailer options. Water and electric is available for most sites. The views are of the forest unless you pay a bit more for riverside locations. Pay to stream showers are adfordable and the restrooms are clean. A dayuse area is nearby with a terrific shelter and toilets. We found a midweeek visit to be quiet and restfull. Well mannered pets are welcome. We were very pleased with our welcome by the ranger and a morning of berry picking and tomato gathering from nearby...
