A nice place for a walk. We have seen a variety of birds. Trails are gravel or dirt. Trail maintenance could be improved. Trails are not marked, but there is a map posted at the entrance that you can photograph. There is an unmarked single track trail on the left near beginning of trail. It appears to be a shortcut to the dock. The loop trail splits at the picnic shelter. There are 5 picnic tables at the shelter and one at the parking lot. A trash can is available at the shelter. No toilet facilities are provided. Outhouses are available elsewhere on the island. Dogs on leash are allowed. The parking lot is gravel with potholes where you leave the pavement. There is no indication of a fee required for the lot, but there are signs elsewhere on the island about a fee for parking in the...

We did took our scouts pack out for a morning walk/hike around the loop. We were lucky to have such great weather for November. It was not muddy for us as it had not rained. I would recommend good water proof shoes if it has rained recently. The whole loop does not have gravel.

Great for bird watching and awesome views. There is a covered picnic area if you bring a lunch.

Careful with parking as there is not a lot there. Will definitely come back for...

Nice, easy hike for any age. It was a little rainy when we were there, so we only saw a few others. Kids enjoyed climbing trees and we all enjoyed seeing garter snakes, Canada geese, a few species of ducks, spotted towhees, robins, and egrets. We heard an eagle but didn't see it, and saw signs of beaver. The trees were blooming and starting to leaf out. I imagine this will be gorgeous in a...

Amazing hike. It was an easy hike for my two kids, my wife and I to knock out in just under 2 hours. We had our dog off leash but he is amazingly well behaved so this lead to is getting a few looks from people with unfriendly dogs. The lake was amazing and the kids loved the bridge. Highly recommended with kids and or pets.
