I like the eastern side of Oregon it is such a change from the western side. We drove over here as a day trip from the mid Willamette Valley. The little park is easy to find and is clean and well maintained. I am 67 and don't have the knees I once had. After heading down the asphalt path heading down towards the river, you cross over a nice wooden bridge. After that the trail becomes more "primitive". I do wish they had the opportunity to make a better path down to the viewing area for these falls. By September it is just powdery dirt and loose rock on a descending trial. Really easy to slip, I know! But I did make it to the two rocky overlooks. The White River Falls was not viewed at this time of the year because of decreased water. I would absolutely recommend seeing this...

If you have a packed lunch, there's plenty of picnic benches to sit back and relax while listening to the sound of the waterfall.
An overlook of the falls is less than a minute walk to enjoy the view. To the left of the overlook is a trail to take you down to the river that you can go swimming. The trail is a bit on the steep end but it's worth the walk.
If you're in the area for a quick pitstop, I highly recommend stopping by this beautiful area. You...
